Hannah’s POV:

“Well go on David, tell me.” I protested. All of a sudden I felt myself start to feel all nervous and shaky. What was so important that he had to tell me? Oscar really had just dropped him straight in it, that’s the thing with him he doesn’t think before he speaks he just blurts out anything without processing it through his brain, whether it be good or bad.

I turned to Oscar and the look on his face was priceless, like he knew that David hadn’t told me whatever he had just said. This is just a lesson to him really, that he needs to engage his brain before he speaks, one of life’s many lessons.

David turned his head from Oscar’s direction and paid full attention on me. “It’s nothing big at all; I was just going to wait until the right time to tell you.” He started, smiling down at me as he sipped his beer before continuing. I ushered him to go on by giving him a look. “It’s just that Oscar and I have been two of the many which have been picked to go over to Brazil for the Confederations Cup in a few weeks.” He finished, taking yet again another sip of his beer.

I stood there for a split second not saying anything. “So when were you actually planning on telling me that I was going to be away from you for a few weeks” I’m not going to lie, I was pretty mad right now. Mad at the fact that knowing David he would have waited until a couple of days before to tell me he was leaving, and also mad at the fact that I’m not going to be able to see him for a few weeks.

He looked at me confused, as did Ludy and Oscar. “Hannah…you are going to get to see me.” He laughed, finding something hilarious which I can’t understand what. “You’re going to be able to see me because you are coming with me.” He smiled, carefully pulling me towards him and embracing me with a hug.

Ok, now I feel a lot better but I also feel like a bit of an idiot.I looked up at the three of them staring at me with a faint smirk upon their faces. “David you could have mentioned that I was coming before I made a complete fool out of myself.” I sipped my wine as I looked up at him in disbelief, typical David really not pointing out the smallest but important details of a conversation. To be honest with you, I do worry about him at times.

“I’m sorry; I thought that you would have understood.” He laughed before taking a glance at Oscar which was hiding his smile by placing his beer in front of his mouth. I shot him a death glare and Ludy smacked him on the arm a little as if to tell him to stop. “Anyway, when you’ve got work next just tell Malcolm, I’m sure he will let you have some time off.” Was he serious? I know that Malcolm and I have been getting along really well recently but to take a few weeks off of work to go to Brazil is pushing it a little, well I think so anyway.

“David you don’t know Malcolm like I do…there is no way that he will allow me to have a few weeks off of work to go to Brazil.” That is one of the annoying things about Malcolm; yeah fair enough he did let me have a day off for David and I to celebrate our year anniversary but I highly doubt that he will allow me off for a few weeks…no way.

“Alright, well I’ll talk to him. Yeah next time you’ve got work I’ll drop you there and ask him about it.” He smiled at me, assuring me that everything would be fine. I know what he can be like and if he is the cause of me losing my job, the job I am finally beginning to enjoy, then I will not be happy, not at all. But I suppose that will be a bonus for David if I do get fired, he’s been pestering me for a while now saying I don’t need a job, but I do as there is no way that you will find me sitting at home all day doing nothing…not going to happen.

“Just promise me that you won’t do anything which will put my job in jeopardy…” He looked down at me with an innocent look on his face. “Come on David everyone knows what you’re like.” I laughed. For once I was right about something like this and he knew it, he can get a little angry when certain things don’t go his way.

There was silence for a while, Oscar had eventually stopped laughing and he and Ludy were silently listening to our conversation. I knew that Oscar knew I was right or he would have stepped in and said something. “Ok I promise, now can we just enjoy the party without all of this serious talk?” I nodded in agreement and the four of us made our way to go and socialise with the rest of the team.
