37. Shower

Jessie's POV

"One more!" I whined, grabbing at the box.

"Jess, we've got to go!" Zayn took the heart shaped box from my hand as I groaned, leading me out the door. "We have to be there by two o'clock!"

"Can I please have my chocolate back?"

"I'm glad you like my gift." I chuckled, stepping onto the elevator. I frowned and looked down at my dress. My arms crossed and laid on my belly. "Aw, what's wrong?"

"My boobs just hurt. And I can barely pick myself up sometimes. My feet are swollen and my back hurts more everyday." I sighed. "How did I even fit in this?!"

"Jess, you look fine. You're almost glowing with your baby bump. White looks so amazing on you. Don't put yourself down like this, alright baby?" Zayn hugged me as I nodded, kissing my forehead. "C'mon, once we get in the car, I'll give you your chocolate!"

"Yay!" I cheered as the elevator doors opened, Zayn and I rushing to the car.

Zayn parked in front of Payton's house, a groan leaving me. I really didn't want to be in the same building as her. At least Zayn would be here when things got awkward.

"Ready for your surprise?"

"Do I have to answer?" I sighed, taking Zayn's hand as we walked up the driveway.

"You're going to love it, babe." I shrugged as he grabbed the door knob. "Ready?" I nodded as he swung open the door. My heart nearly stopped as all my friends and family jumped up from behind furniture.

"Surprise!!" They all yelled as I took slow steps inside. A banner that said 'it's a boy!' was risen above us. A whole stack of presents were in the far corner as well as food, lots of food.

"Wow!" I gasped, looking around.

"Welcome to your first baby shower!" Payton ran over and hugged me. I still felt uneasy but decided to hug her back. "I wanted to make it up to you for all the mean things I have said and done."

"Okay." I said simply, looking over to see Harry. "Harry!" I squealed, rushing into his arms.

"Hey Jessie." He chuckled. "Wow, he's gotten so big!" I hugged Cynthia as well, watching as she rubbed my belly. I noticed Liam and Niall were here, as well as Brody, my mum, my dad, Jane, Victoria, and even Leo. He waved at me comforting as my eyes landed on him. Zayn distracted him as I greeted my father, my mother standing beside him with her arms crossed.

"Hi daddy." I smiled as he kissed my forehead.

"Hello sweetheart." He chuckled as I turned to my mum, her gaze on Payton. I frowned and looked to the floor.

"I'm glad you came, mum."

"I was forced, honey. Of course I came." I nodded quickly and rushed over to Zayn's side, hugging his arm. My mother could stop being harmful, especially now when I should be happy.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I looked up to Leo with a smile. "Hi Leo, I'm happy you showed up."

"I haven't been able to see how my daughter and grandson are doing."

"Daughter?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. You and Zayn aren't married yet. I saw the ring and I just thought." I blushed as Zayn kissed my temple.

"No, not yet. We'll wait a few more years." Leo chuckled and rubbed my belly.

"God bless." He whispered, kissing my forehead before taking a seat on the couch. Liam, Brody, and Niall greeted me. All of them kissed my belly and I could feel Zayn tense beside me. I grabbed his hand and kissed his knuckles, grinning at him.
