Jessie's POV

As soon as I got to Harry's flat, I spotted my father, mother and Payton at the dinner table. Harry shrugged at me. I sniffled and walked to the guest room, placing Bentley in his crib. I quickly changed him into one of his onesies. Tears just effortlessly seemed to slip down my cheeks.

"Jessie?" Payton stopped at the doorframe. "I know right now seems like a bad time, but dad really wants to talk to us."

"Okay." I sniffled, kissing my baby goodnight before walking over to the dinner table.

"Hi baby doll." My father opened his arms warmly, hugging me tight as I fell into his arms. He sat me on his lap as if I was still a little girl. "I have something very important to tell my girls. Your mother and I have been keeping this a secret for a while."

"Oh.." I sighed.

"I don't know how to announce this so I'll just go ahead and say it." He breathed. "I have prostate cancer."

"What?!" Payton piped, covering her mouth.

"Daddy, no!" I burst into tears, getting up from his lap. "How long have you known about this?!"

"A month before Bentley was born. I'm so sorry honey."

"No, you're not! You're letting yourself die knowing there's a way to fix it! Right after I'm finally reunite with you, you leave me!"

"Dad, you can't.." Payton sniffled. "Have you considered chemo?"

"Yes, but it's not that easy."

"Oh yeah? Well what about watching your first nephew grow up? Walking Payton and I down the isle? Having us for a longer while? Enjoying the rest of your life for christ's sake! You're thirty-eight!" I squeaked.

"Jessie, calm down-"

"How can you be so calm mum?! You're losing the man you love! I had to undergo that today and after I'm done yelling at you people, I'm crying myself a river the next few weeks!"

"It's not that easy."

"It's very easy, okay! Zayn had no choice, daddy does! He just doesn't want to take it because not even you are important enough to live for!"

"Jessica!" Payton scolded me as I stormed into the guest room, shutting the door quickly and locking it. I laid in bed, starting to cry myself to sleep. Before I could, my father walked in kneeling beside my bed.

"Sweetheart, I have considered chemotherapy."

"You just said you didn't.."

"No, you put those words in my mouth. I am going to chemo, but it's not easy doing it. The pain I feel afterwards is tiring."

"You have to make it, daddy." I whimpered, hugging his neck.

"It doesn't look good, honey. I'm already at stage three. I begin accessive treatment tomorrow, and I won't be out until I'm either cancer-free or..."

"Gone.." He sighed and kissed my forehead.

"I'm trying, okay honey?"

"Zayn left today, I can't let you leave me, too.."

"I'll try, I promise. I love you Jessica, I never wanted to hurt you."

"I love you, too, daddy." I sniffled, hugging his neck. Once he walked out, I crawled into bed and stared at the ceiling. I lifted my hand up to my face and kissed my ring before falling asleep.

Harry woke me up early to take me to the grocery store. Everything I needed was almost achieved and all we needed was food for us and Bentley.

"I'm surprised you decided to come here with me."
