Zayn's POV
Jessie groaned again as she laid back on the bed, sniffling as she hugged her belly. Week thirty five had arrived and Jessie was due in a few more days. That also meant, this was the worst days for her. This was the worst possible time since I've started university. It's hard being away from her knowing she's in such pain. Most times, she'd cuddle up in my arms and cry at the pain. It made me feel really bad that I couldn't do anything to stop the pain.
"My whole body hurts." Jessie sniffled as I walked into our room, pulling her into my arms as I laid in bed with her.
"What hurts the most?"
"My feet and my back.." I pulled her legs up, taking her soft feet in my hands as I massaged them. "I want him out already."
"I do, too, babe." I kissed her forehead as she gripped my arm.
"He's been kicking nonstop ever since Sunday. It was exciting at first but now he won't let me sleep!"
"I can't really do much about it except say sorry." She nodded as she whimpered, clawing at her belly. "Want something else to eat?" Jessie looked up at me. "Some biscuits and mashed potatoes from last night?"
"And the gravy.." I chuckled and released her feet from my grasp. "Owwww.." Tears started to fall down her cheeks.
"Babe, don't cry." I kneeled down, rubbing her belly.
"But it hurts so bad." Jessie whimpered, trying to sit up. "I can't get comfortable at all..."
"Tell you what, after I bring you your food, I'll give you the best massage ever."
"Aw really?" She wiped her eyes. "Can you sing to Pudding while you do it? Maybe he'll stop kicking so much." I chuckled as I pressed our lips together, her hands gripping my pants. "I want to love you so bad." Jessie breathed. I smirked into her lips, rubbing her back.
"After nine months, you want me now?"
"It's a daily thing, I just never tell you." She giggled, sitting up. "Oh! I need to pee!" Jessie slowly stood up, rushing to the bathroom. I laid in bed and waited. She returned in a matter of minutes, frowning again. "I'm so tired."
"Aw babe.." She sniffled as she laid beside me, snuggling into my torso. "I'm sorry it hurts."
"It hurts a lot!" Jessie whimpered, hugging me tight. "My back hurts now."
"Just think, in less than a week, Pudding will be here with us. He'll be napping on my chest, with you beside me. We'll be gaze at him with loving eyes, then at each other." Her head nuzzled into my neck, rubbing my chest.
"I just can't wait any longer."
"He's almost here babe, don't worry."
"Can you make me a banana smoothie?" She asked shyly, sniffling.
"Of course I can." I patted her belly before standing up and heading into the kitchen. Grabbing the ingredients, I shoved them into the blender. I looked over into the room and saw Jessie's lips moving, her fingers twirling around her belly button. A smile creased onto my face as I started the blender, holding the lid down.
"Can you bring my food too?"
"Sure." I answered to myself. I poured the blended fruit into a bottle, heating up last night's meal and carrying it to our room. Jessie sat up and took the bottle first, watching as I placed the plate on the nighstand. "Anything else?" She wiggled her toes in the air, laughing afterwards.
"I can't wait to see Harry." Jessie smiled as I massaged her feet.
"Oh yeah?"
"Mhm! I haven't seen him in so long!" Jessie chugged down her banana smoothie, running the tip of her fingers on her belly. "It feels so weird to be pregnant. It feels like I ate a nondigesting, giant chocolate cake."
"Oh really?" I chuckled as she nodded.
"Pudding is going to be a big baby if I keep eating like a hippo. I swear, most of my baby weight went to my butt."
"I don't mind."
"It's too big."
"Nothing is wrong with that. You're still beautiful! Big butt or small butt."
"I used to be skin and bones, now look at me. Why am I complaining?" She smiled, sitting up slightly and placing her plate on her large belly. My hands pulled away from her feet and laid beside her, pulling hair from her face as she ate. "Anytime, I could pop. What would you do if my water broke right now?"
"I-I haven't really thought about it. Maybe, panic first?"
"You're not supposed to do that."
"I know, I know."
"You're supposed to get my stuff, take me to the car and drive me to the hospital. If you panic, I will yell and scream at you."
"How do you know that?"
"I read the mommy's log off your phone sometimes." She laughed, licking some mashed potatoes off her fingers. "Most of them throw things, but I'll make sure not to do that."
"You better not." Jessie's face scrunched up at my words.
"I can do whatever the hell I want!" She yelled, pinching my nose. I pouted and laid my head on her shoulder, my hand holding her belly. "Everyday, I refrain from yelling at you more then I do and should."
"You can be as loud as you want, you know that." I smirked, pecking her neck.
"Oh shut up, I'm eating. I can eat a whole plate and still be hungry. Pudding eats most of my food." She frowned. "Can I get chocolate cake?"
"When you finish your food." Jessie frowned and continued to dip her finger into the mashed potatoes. "Anything been bothering you?"
"Just the cramps." She shrugged, sighing. "And what Patty said a few weeks ago."
"You know that's not going to happen."
"I don't know what's going to happen, neither do you."
"But that doesn't mean something terrible will happen."
"Zayn, I am a teenage mum. You heard what Patty said, it's not safe to have a baby at my age. I get so lightheaded sometimes, but I only say that I'm tired so I don't scared you."
"Babe-"
"Zayn, I don't want to be stressed out a week before our baby arrives. I want to be happy and enjoy this experience. I am going to be really moody but you've got to work with me on this." Jessie placed her hand over mine. I sighed and rubbed her belly, looking into her eyes.
"Alright, I won't make fun of you when you complain." Jessie smiled and pecked my lips, taking a sip from her bottle. "You're going to make it, so is Pudding. Okay?"
"Yeah, okay." She nodded, combing my hair with her fingers.
"Oh and I forgot to remind you. We're going over to Payton's tomorrow."
"Zaaayn.." Jessie whined. "I don't want to talk to her." She took a scoop of mashed potatoes. "After what she did behind my back, I don't plan to." Her words were muffled from the food in her mouth.
"It's a surprise, a really great surprise that I know you absolutely love. Maybe even cry if your hormones are on the prowl." I chuckled, dipping my finger in the mashed potatoes.
"Are you sure I'd cry about something Payton related?"
"You'll love it, I promise you." Jessie shrugged and let out a huff. "What?"
"I want some brownies."
