I lay on the bed, tired.
Avi got us a rent house with a few rooms for women and men, and the men were staying in one room, the girls in one of the others.
"Scott?"
Alex's small voice rang in my ears. I turned around and faced my small timid boyfriend. "Alex! C'mon, let's cuddle."
He blushed and walked over.
I soon had Alex in my arms. He kissed me softly and I smiled. "Ayyy. Is anything wrong? It's usually me who comes to cuddle."
Alex nodded slowly. "Actually, I was going to ask you the same thing. You seemed bothered all day ever since you saw the girl at the airport. Is everything okay? Do you know the girl, or..."
I sighed.
The girl seemed oddly familiar.
But she was a girl.
It couldn't be the purnette I knew.
"No. I just had a lot on my mind, you know? This is a beautiful place, and I'm with the most beautiful person in my life. I want everything to be perfect."
I was blabbering.
Mitch would've known it instantly. He would've said, "Don't, big guy, I know you're lying. Don't try to flatter me with sweet talk."
"Awww honey. You're perfect. You don't have to try to hard. I'm with you." Alex cooed.
I smiled. "Thank you. Really. Thanks."
The door opened and Kevin walked in. He wrinkled his face and groaned. "Ugh. I need a date, gurls."
He picked his bags up and started out the door. I stared. "Wait, Kev. We share a room, why are you taking your bags out?"
Alex bit his lip. "Avi asked to share a diffrent room with Kevin alone. He thought you and I needed some...privacy. I didn't see any reasons to say no, so I just obliged."
He searched my face to read my emotions. "Is that okay with you...?"
I blinked. "Uh, yeah of course. Sure."
Why did Avi do that?
Avi was never so keen of me and Alex dating.
Why was he starting now?
I stood up. "I'm gonna go talk to Avi."
Alex nodded. "Okay. Be right back."
I opened the door. Avi lay on his bed.
"Av?" I called. "Why'd you do it?"
He looked up. "Do what?"
"Ask for me and Alex's privacy. Why?"
Avi's green eyes gleamed. "Scott. I don't like it that you're dating again, no matter how good a guy Alex is."
I raised my eyebrows. "I know. But why.."
"Scott, don't you remember Mitch?"
I froze.
I never thought I'd hear that name from Avi again. I bit my lip.
"Well I....."
"You said you'd find Mitch, as long as it takes."
"Avi-"
