Mitch's POV

I sat on a brick wall, crying in the rain.

I lost both Avi and Scott.

-after Avi's burrial-

"Uhm, Mitch...."

I turned to see Scott, holding a glass of water.

"Yes, Scott?" I asked, choking on my tears.

"Hey...you okay?" Scott walked over and put his arm around my shoulder. I sighed, nodding.

"Avi......I miss him dearly."

"Yes baby I know. I do too. Come here."

He tilted my chin and started to lean in. I flinched and pulled away, staring at him.

"What...?" Scott asked slowly.

"Scott Avi's dead . We can't."

"Avi's dead so we can."

I stared at him some more. "Are you serious? Avi literally 'just' died. You don't move on that fast. Are you even sad that he's gone?"

"Of course I'm sad, Mitch. He was my best friend. It's just.... I don't get what Avi's death has to do with you and me."

"I can't believe you, Scott."

"No, I can't believe you. Do you even want to be with me?"

My jaw dropped. "What does that have to do with everything?! It was just Avi's burrial, Scott. We didn't even get to give him a proper funeral. This is not about us."

"You think I don't know that?! Stop acting like you're the only one who cares about him. He was my best friend."

"Yeah well you're acting like you never even knew him."

And with that, I pushed out of the front yard, crying.

-back to reality-

I was so miserable.

I had nobody.

I had to talk to someone.

Just then a name flashed through my head.

Dexi Vanlentine

I whipped out my phone and dialed a number.

***

"ACHOOO!"

Dexi sighed and led me to her couch. She handed me a blanket and a pillow. "Here. Jesus you're soaking. What's going on?"

I told her everything.

About my past.

About me being a vampire.

About Avi and Scott.

About Avi dying.

About me and Scott fighting.

Dexi listened, not saying anything until I was finished. Then she took a deep deep deep breath.

"Well. That's certainly a very awesome story. Thanks for telling me. So you're here because you don't know what to do with Scott?"

I nodded. "Yes."

"Let me ask you something. Do you love him?"

I paused. Then nodded slowly.

"You don't want to lose him, do you?"

Another nod.

"But you're mad and hurt that he doesn't consider your feelings."

I sighed. "Yes, exactly. I don't know what's right. Help me."

"Well what do you want to do?"

I didn't say anything for a while. Then I sighed.

"I want to be with him."

"Then be with him."

I blinked. "What?"

"There's no right or wrong here. What's right is what you want. Go. Be with him."

I couldn't say anything.

Scott's POV

I walked up and down the street under my umbrella.

"........Well you won." I said to the sky. "I couldn't win his heart even when you were gone. I guess I'm just a horrible selfish person.

"....And you were right. Because you never stopped loving him til the last moment you lived."

There was no sound except for the sound of rain falling on my umbrella. I threw the umbrella on the ground and shrieked out in anger. "WELL SO WHAT?!"

The rain wet my body fast and I felt the cold get to me instantly. I breathed hard, trying not to choke on my tears.

"You bitch......you were right." I cried. "I didn't love him enough to have him. I was just a big bitch wasn't I....?"

Lightning struck and my whole vision was lit up.

I stumbled, trying to stand. My whole vision was blurred and I fell onto a tree.

"Ha....." I breathed.

I ignored the rain and looked up at the dark sky.
