"Look at me."

"Can you hear me?"

"Mr. Hoying!"

I opened my eyes, trying to get used to the bright light. I blinked a few times and shook my head.

"....Scott!"

Mitch was there, with tears in his eyes. I smiled, always happy to see him.

"...Hey beautiful."

'Beautiful' hit my stomach. It didn't hurt at all but I groaned and rolled over. Mitch rolled his eyes. "You idiot! Do you know how worried I was??"

"Well I'm guessing a lot from your hit..!" I said, laughing. "Mitch what am I doing in a hospital bed?"

"You were sick. I was worried sick. Are you okay?"

"..Yeah I guess. What happened? You couldn't have carried me all the way here. You're too little."

"Okay, rude. But you're right. I called Elisha and she said she'd come right away. But she was in a beach house all across the city so it took her an hour just to come."

"So you waited?"

"No? You were shivering and letting out weird noises, how could I leave you like that, you asshole?!"

"...So..?"

"I...I called Avi."

"What?"

Just then the door opened and Avi and Elisha came in, holding Starbucks. They saw me.

"Oh you're up!" Elisha said loudly.

"Yeah.....wow." I said. "Do you know what's wrong with me?"

They shook their heads.

"No." Avi said. "The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with you. He told us to tell you to get some rest and drink lots of water."

"Oh...." I held my head. My mouth tasted like coins. I tried to stand but Mitch pushed me down.

"Stay down." He said. "You need some rest."

"I can't stay here forever."

"Then stay until you can actually walk." Mitch's voice was so commanding I had to nod. "I mean it."

"...Hey. Since when do you care about me?" I asked, laughing. He blushed and Avi cleared his throat.

"Mitch can I talk to you for a second?"

Mitch nodded. "Yeah. Of course."

They walked out the door.

Mitch's POV

"Yeah what's up?" I asked as Avi shut the door behind us.

"I....I'm considering moving."

"Oh?"

"To Transylvania."

"Oh."

"Yeah I just like it here so much, you know? The people, lights, the feels..

"And....I know this is going to be tough and all, you know, looking up houses, searching, moving in....."

I nodded. "Yeah?"

"So I was hoping....can I stay at your place until I find a house?"

"Or,"

Avi met my gaze. "Or?"

"You can just live with me and Elisha. It'll be fun. But you gotta pay the rent."

"...Seriously?"

"Yeah why not?" I shrugged.

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

I smiled. "No biggie."

I opened the door and walked in, yelling "Hey Elisha! I got ourselves a roomate!"

Elisha raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Meet Avi, he'll be sharing the rent as well."

Scott sat up, eyes huge. "WHAT?!"

Elisha said the same thing, but louder.

"What? He's a good guy. I guess."

Elisha's eyebrows furrowed. "Mitch what the fuck are you talking about? A mortal, living with two full vampires? You don't know what we can do!"

"Then how about a witness?"

Elisha glared at the blonde. "WHAT?!"

Scott shrugged. "I'll be working in Transylvania for a while. My company is sending out dispatches and I am being sent here. That's why I came here as a vacation. To see where I'll be working form now."

"Wait your company, the RH?"

Scott rolled his eyes. "Honey I stopped working at the RH ages ago. My father will find another guy to take over. I'm working as a model at CHANNEL. (not chanel, channel. They are two completely diffrent companies)"

"Oh wow." I gasped. Scott grinned.

"I'll pay the rent. Can I get a room too?"

I looked at Elisha and saw that she had a wicked grin on her face. I had a bad feeling about that but she soon smiled nicely.

"Sure." She laughed. "You both may stay."

Elisha's POV

This was the perfect opportunity to show Mitch that mortals couldn't be trusted.

Scott and Avi can't possibly go with no sex forever. Then Mitch will see how selfish and brutal humans are and shoo them away. Perfect.

Just then I thought I saw a shadow scattering across the hallway. I crept my ears and listened.

Yes

Someone was out there.

Someone was listening to our whole conversation.
