Elisha was the one to stand up the first. "MITCH!!!" she shrieked. She started to run to me but the vampire hunter Jackson held her.
"Hang on, female vampire" He said. Elisha flinched.
"It's too bad you're a vampire. I would've liked you. We could've had some fun." He dragged his thumb across her face.
"Don't touch her!!" I screamed. I wanted to run to her but Alex was holding me too tight.
Avi and Scott started to run to me. Avi looked pretty surprised and frantic but he then stopped. He stayed where he was until Scott passed him.
But Scott was blocked by Drew the hunter just a few feet away from me."LET HIM GO!" Scott growled. "WHAT ARE YOU, Alex?!"
"I'm a vampire hunter, Scott. Just like your father. And just like you. And so are my friends. They're all just like you."
"...Wait. These are all vampire hunters?"
"Yup. Why do you think I already have so many friends in Transylvania? They were sent here, Scott."
"By Mew..."
"By Mew."
Scott grit his teeth. "You bitch." He growled. Alex raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? So you're calling me a bitch for catching vampires and you're the son of the RH."
Scott said nothing.
"You knew about Grassi, don't you?"
Scott still said nothing and Alex covered his eyes with his hand and laughed. He laughed and laughed until he seemed quite crazy.
"Oh this is too much." He removed his hand and met my eyes. His eyes looked as cold as ice. "Quite good, eh Grassi?" He spat. "Made everyone yours."
"Not everyone I see." I grumbled.
"Mitch."
I looked up. "Avi?"
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
"...No. I'm fine. My head just hurts a little." I looked up at Alex's smouldering hand and sighed, scared out of my wits.
"Don't be scared. Calm yourself."
I looked at him carefully. "Hey. I'm fine."
"No you're not. I can see it."
"How do you know?"
He sighed. "Haven't I told you? When you like a guy you know this stuff."
Drew laughed. "So this is the annoying vampire who romes around your bae!" He said. "And now my school is hurting. Avi likes this chick?"
"Yup. I caught them all lovey dovey just before he left."
I stared.
Scott's eyes widened. "I'm sorry, what?" He asked.
Avi looked away.
Elisha just looked at me, her expression grim."Wow this chick gotta go. I've known her for five minutes and the guy I like is already crushing on him. He really is a pain."
I closed my eyes.
Try to hide the scars, kid.
Stay strong.
"Oh like I hadn't heard that before." I said, rolling my eyes. "And if you ask me, y'all vampire hunters are just a big buch of shit."
Alex raised an eyebrow at my sudden outburst. "Oh? Then why don't we show you how shitty we can be." His hand started to smoulder again and Scott shrieked.
"Alex STOP!" He screamed.
"Scott you have no reason to defend this monster. Not that you defending will help anyhow. I gave him a chance to leave and he showed up anyway."
Scott frowned. "A chance?"
"Yeah. I told him to get out of the bullshit of a building and our shitty life. But now? He's here again." Alex smiled when Scott looked shocked. "Surprised?"
"Alex you motherfucking bowlfull of shit. You're the reason Mitch was gone? What the fuck did you do?"
Alex smiled even more. "You were out sick. I went out to smoke and I see him with Avi, making out. What was I supposed to do, hug him?"
Scott looked tormented. "St....stop it."
"Tell him, Grassi. Tell him what you were doing with the guy. Tell him how you poisoned him and turned your back on him. Go on. Tell him."
I said nothing and Alex pulled on my hair hard. "I SAID, TELL HIM!!" He screamed.
".........We kissed."
Scott's huge blue eyes filled with tears.
"Scott it's not his fault, I kissed him." Avi defended.
"Yes, we kissed and yes, I turned my back on you." I looked up and locked eyes with the big blonde bitch.
"Scott all my life, I've been avoiding humans. To avoid getting hurt, to avoid getting killed. I wanted to stay away from them as far as possible even though I never was hurt.
"But the years I spent with y'all were the most hurtfull shitty years of my life. But you know what?"
I let loose a tear. Trying to defend myself wasn't helping now.
"It was still the best."
From far away, Elisha closed her eyes.
"But I tried to end it. I wanted to get over all that. I wanted to be myself. Just like I was before I ever met y'all. Scared, afraid, but un-hurt. That was what I thought five years ago when I came to Transylvania."
I shook my head. "But that never worked. Because Not Being Hurt came into my life along with Pain, Suffer, and Loneliness. That was even worse than getting hurt. That was why I was so excited inside when I saw you in Transylvania."
Avi raised an eyebrow.
"But I never thought I could hurt someone as well. I never knew I was that important. But when I heard that you were hurt because of me, Scott, I felt....stupid. Like I had just failed a test that I knew all the answers inside.
"I failed the test of life. I knew a person could get hurt because if the other. I just thought I would always be the person and someone else would be the other. I'm always too short for you. I'm..."
A strong fist hit my stomach. I doubled over, gasping for breath. Scott shrieked in terror and Elisha gripped Avi's arm.
"Gibberish." Alex grunted. He looked up at Scott.
"This here is a blood sucking leech. Choose. To keep him alive or to kill him. Just remember, if this bat stays alive, it'll kill so many people."
"And if I choose to keep him alive will you?"
Alex smiled. "No."
"Kill him."
