My sapphire

Chapter Fifteen

As I pulled into ruby's drive way, I saw pearl and amethyst walk out the house. I turned off and got out my car and made my way up to them, "Hey sapphire whats up ruby's ass today?" amethyst scrunched her eyebrows and crossed her arms

"I have no idea I haven't really gotted to talk to her let alone see her." I looked at there hands intertwined and a smile broke out onto my face, " Enough about ruby I'm about to check on her but what's with you guys huh?" they both blushed, but didn't let each others hands go, "Yeah about us we sorta date."  I don't know how but my smile seemed to have gotten bigger, I jumped up and hugged the two of them.

"Awe ruby totally called that! congrats but hey I have to go check on ruby we can celebrate later okay"  I hugged them one last time before walking inside the house.

I  went straight to her room and knocked lightly, "Amethyst I'm not in the mood." I knocked again, "It isn't amethyst, it's sapphire." I paused for a moment, "Do you mind if I come in?"  I heard shuffling and a loud bang.

"Ruby, you okay?" I heard a groan than a low yes, I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing she fell.

I leaned on the opposite side of the wall and waited for her to open the door, "Ruby you okay it's really quite in there." The door opened and there stood ruby in her looney toon boxers and a white tank top I smiled, " Nice boxers, but I took you for a hulk kinda girl."

I saw her smile for the first time in a while, she stepped to the side giving me the signal that it was ok to go in.

I gladly took the offer and stepped in her room and took a seat on one of the beanie bags, "What brings you here?" I looked up at her and signed, " you." She looked at me and gulped, " Oh." I nodded and put my bag on my lap while crossing my legs.

"So are you angry still?" I paused for a moment, "Cause from how amethyst put it you were or are mad." Ruby just stared a me than walked to her bed, "No I'm not mad anymore."

She fell face first into her covers and groaned, "Okay good, but why were you mad in the first place?" I heard her sign, and move around under her covers, "I had a bad day."  I nodded, understanding that part, "But why were you ignoring me than, did I do something to make you ignore me?"

I looked down and avoided looking at ruby, "Ruby I asked earlier today what the problem was and you completely blew it off with a answer I knew was a lie .. so I'm gonna ask again can you please tell me what's going on with you." I gripped my bag hopping she'll answer my question, and not lie to me this time.

I sat there waiting for an answer, but didn't really get one in the end. I got up and grabbed my bag and keys, " fine, don't tell me." I tried not to sound hurt as I was talking but I failed badly. I walked out her room and outside to my car.

I sat down in my car and blankly looked at my phone 'What should I do?'  I put my key in the ignition but I hesitated  'should I go back in there ? what if she seriously hurt and something bad is going on ' 

I shakily took my key in my hand and got out my car  'What the hell am I doing? she could be crying!'   I took in a deeply needed breath and walked back to the front door 'what am I gonna do to not make myself look like an idiot?'   

I bit my lip trying to think of something 'Why am I thinking so much?'  I opened the door  and walked in slowly  'I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack '  I walked faster to ruby's room and barged in without knocking, but what I seen wasn't something I wanted to see, In fact I hoped to never see it again.

I took a good look at the top naked half of ruby's body, all the bruises on her body made me sick. I looked at her wide eyed.

"Ruby." I dropped my keys and quickly but gently grabbed her an hugged the life out of her, "Why wouldn't you tell me?" I felt her arms go around me and pull me close, "Because sapph I didn't want you to get dragged in this." Ruby put her chin on my head and signed while playing with my curls, "Was it him." Her body stiffened 'I already knew who it was but I just want her to admit it was him'  I felt and heard her gulp, "Yes." I balled my fist up tightly and let go if ruby.

"Where the hell is he" I turned around and picked my keys, "Ruby were is your father." I calmly asked and looked at her, "Sapphire calm down." Ruby grabbed my shaking hand, " No ruby." I took my hand back and walked out her room very very irritated. I moved swiftly towards the door.

I had it half way open but it was was quickly slammed shut and locked, " Sapphire you need to calm down." I shivered at the hot breath that hit the back of my neck and the close proximity.

I felt ruby's hands grab my waist, " It's ok sapphire." I took her hands off me and turned around, "No, its not." I carefully put my hand on her cheeks I wiped her tears away, "You don't deserve this."  More tear came falling down her face as she fell to her knees and hugged me tightly.

I bent down and hugged her tightly and told her everything will be alright, and after all the crying was done.

Most are time was spent laying on the couch talking about everything it seems like I've missed a lot according ruby she's been getting visits from her father when amethyst go's to work or when she go's to work asking for money and trying to get her to move back in, " Your not gonna move or anything right?"  Ruby shook her head no and propped her elbow up and laid on her side and just stared at me. 

I don't know what it was but I was tempted to lean in and not just tempted it was like and urge to do it.

I bit my lip and looked back at ruby, I could literally feel the tension between the both of us. 'I can't do that what if she gets mad!' I scooted closer not really listening to my thoughts as they screamed at me to pull back.

I felt my heartbeat speed up and my head ache from all the thinking 'What am I doing pull back! pull back!'   I slowly raised my hands  and carefully put them on ruby's cheeks, ruby slowly put her trembling hands on my hips.

I was so close to ruby then I've ever been before, I noticed a small scar on the bridge of Ruby's nose for a fleeting moment I wondered how she got it.

I wanted to know everything about the girl laying in front of me. And more than anything, I wanted to feel her rough looking lips on mine. 

I slowly and painfully leaned in and watched as ruby did the same. I closed my eyes as I felt her hot breath blow over my face bitting my lip my heart skipped a beat as ruby moved closer.

We were so close, we just weren't fast enough cause just as we were gonna lock lips there was a knock at the door.
