Song for this imagine: Shelter by Birdy

Ariana let out a hesitant breathe out, her back facing the mirror because of the slight fear that she would see what everyone was talking about.

Lately people have been saying Ariana's features weren't flattering. Out of nowhere she had loads of hate, not only about her looks, but also that Harry would notice her flaws and end their relationship. She was not insecure about herself before; over the course of the years she had learn to ignore the hate and just be happy with herself so she can encourage others to appreciate themselves and feel confident.

Yet here she was, scared of looking at her reflection. She sat on the floor of the bedroom, legs pushed up to her chest and head in her hands as she stared into the mirror. Her sobs broke the silence in the house, as tears flowed down her rosy cheeks.

Harry wasn't here to cheer her up, he wasn't here to tell her how beautiful she was. She wished dearly that he could be here, but he was at the studio and didn't know what time he would show up. She didn't just cry about her insecurities, but she let everything else out as well. With every tear signifying either stress, fear, doubt, or sadness.

With her grandfather recently passing away, the media accusing her of so many things, her family far away from her reach, and Harry not with her now--she couldn't take it any longer.

She didn't know she had this all built up in her, until now. She wanted to give up so badly. So, so badly. She furiously wiped her tears, more flowing down the more she tried to stop. The happy, confident, girl was fading away. Her eyes held such sadness, even looking at her could make you cry.

She attempted to start to slowly get up, trying to clean up the mess she made while in her bad state.

She wanted to leave, but she couldn't find a way out. She knew that she couldn't take all the pressure anymore. If she wanted to escape reality, let others be happy with her disappearance, she would have to do the one thing she was terrified of doing.

But first, she had to end things with the person she loved. Harry Edward Styles.

Just the thought made her fall back down onto her knees. She shook her head, she had to do this. She had to.

All of the sudden, she heard the person she would probably never see again after today.

"Babe, I'm home." she heard Harry's happy tone.

She felt like her insides were about to explode, like she was about to faint once she heard his foot steps coming up the stairs.

Once he appeared at the door of their bedroom, she knew everything would soon crash down.

"Hey baby-" his smile immediately dropped at the sight of his girlfriend in a desperate state.

"Love, what's wrong?" He tried to wrap his arms around her, but she just moved away.

"Harry, I'm b-breaking up with you." She mumbled, sad eyes facing the floor.

He furrowed his eyebrows, he would usually think this was a joke and start laughing as if this was a joke, but the tears coming down her cheeks said everything.

"N-no, no you're not."

"Yes, I a-m. I just think we should see other people." Ariana tried to sound as convincing as possible, hopefully he would just let her go easily, but that wasn't the case.

"Ariana, stop. I love you, and you're not going to do this, not now, not ever." He held her face in his hands, trying to stop himself from letting a few tears out.

"No, I'm not happy in this relationship. I need out." She shakily said, pulling his hands away from her.

"Stop, you're lying!" His sadness immediately turned into anger.

He didn't want to believe it, believe that his girl didn't love him back all this time.

"I'm not! Harry, can't you see! I want out of this relationship, and I want out now! Why don't you just go find another girl, one that can meet your standards!" Tears started to rush down her cheeks again, her voice cracking at almost every word.

"What the fuck are you talking about?! I don't want another girl, I want you! I love you. Ariana!"

She tried to stop her eyes from widening, this was the first time he ever said he loved her. He definitely just made things harder for her to walk out from this relationship.

"W-well, I hate you!" She couldn't believe what she just said, she knew she was lying, she never, ever grow to hate the boy in front of her. So when the words came out of her mouth, her eyes immediately went back to the floor.

"W-what?" His voice cracked, eyes becoming glossy the more time that passed. However, he shook his head, knowing--hoping she was lying.

"Don't fucking say that. Don't you dare ever say such a thing! Look me in the eye, God damn it!"

Ariana's eyes immediately focused on his face, the boy that held a broken heart.

"Look me in the eyes and say that again." he stepped closer as she opened her mouth, struggling to say the words right to his face.

He pressed his lips to hers in a desperate, passionate kiss once he noticed her struggle. He forced her body closer to his, softly pushing her against the wall.

They pulled apart after s few seconds, catching some air. He kissed down from her jawline to her collarbone, leaving a trail of west kisses on her soft skin.

She couldn't help but let the tears fall down once more. She couldn't believe she almost did what she did, but she was so relieved that he saw the truth right through her.

He carried her to the bed, wiping away her tears once he gently laid her down.

"I knew you couldn't say it."

"I-I don't know what I just said, I just-I'm just having so many issues." She sniffled, sad eyes looking up into his.

"Like what? I told you already, whatever comes up, you're supposed to tell me so I can be there for you. I don't give a fuck if I'm in the studio or anything, I'll immediately be right by your side in a heartbeat when you need me." He caresses her cheek.

"The media, fans, everyone. A lot of hate lately, especially about my appearance and how I don't deserve you, I just couldn't handle it. Us breaking up was my worst nightmare, the fact that I almost actually made it a reality scares me."

He sat her up, placing her on his lap as he held her face in his hands.

Realization hit him, and it scared him that his fans almost made the love of his life leave.

"You know they're just trying to get to you, baby. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, and I'm in love with every part of you. If anything, I'm the one that doesn't deserve you. You make me so happy, and there's nothing more scarier in the world than losing you. Don't you ever scare me like that again." He kissed her forehead.

She sighed, knowing he always made any situation better.

"I guess my insecurities got the best of me this time."

"Don't worry, I'll show you how beautiful you are."

And as their clothes came off, he kept his word, complimenting every part of her body with every thrust, every kiss, every caress.

"I'll show you you're beautiful."
