Chapter 33 - Bachelors and Bachelorettes

"Are you excited Bun Bun?"

"Of course I am! I can barely contain myself the closer it draws near!"

Kairi laughed, "You're ever so cute!" A faint tinge of pink was on her face while her employer grinned, "So I noticed that Mori was very relaxed a few weeks ago. I wanted to ask about it but I figured you might blush like mad and then give away our little girl talk!" Mayu grinned at her boss as she emerged from the changing room wearing the Vanille Creme outfit that Ren had made for them, "You're so daring Bun Bun!" Kairi was ecstatic about the costumes, "We are just so cute! Now I see why people always preferred the morning Bunnies but now they can't choose between us or the night ones!"

"That's because Miho's here and she works a lot better with Thumper than Pippie ever did."

"I know! Thumper tells me all the time how she has much more energy now because Miho always makes her take a break for fifteen minutes when it winds down in the middle of the shift. She'll watch both sides so that she can have some time to eat something because she's hypoglycemic."

"Auntie is always caring, Ryota told me."

"Aww! I'm so glad to have her here! I wish more of that side were like her."

Mayu shrugged, "I'm happy to have her and Ryota."

"You're right! Let's go work and make the Vortex happy!" Mayu laughed once more at her employer as she fist pumped the air and they headed out into the dining room. Mori was sitting in his customary seat, Kuyomi snuggled against his shoulder, and he stared at the yellow colored costume, he gave a small smirk. Mayu grinned and began to set up for the day, Kairi had placed double settings, and asked her, "What's the Bon Bon?"

She thought about it, Mori could see how her eyes flitted left and right as Ren and Saki exited the kitchen to await her idea. "I think Creme de l'Amour."

They stared at her and Saki grinned, "I know exactly what to make that would match that perfectly!"

"Does it have to do with a souffle cup and strawberries?"

"As a matter of fact, it does. Come Ren! We must prepare!" Ren followed eagerly after Saki while Kairi stared at her, Mayu only smirked while returning to work, and he was wondering what she could have come up with that Saki already knew how to make. He shook his head and watched as the two prepared for that morning, setting up doubles because of the hunch that they both had. Once the chef had stated that they had a good amount of the special ready, Kairi flipped the sign over, and they greeted the first customer to enter. The male asked for Jackie, he was lead away, and Mayu brought out the special for Mori, he looked at it, and she leaned down to whisper.

"It's a strawberry custard filled vanilla lava cake with a dash of cinnamon." He nodded, she kissed Kuyomi's head, and Mori's while waiting for another customer to enter. When that bell did jingle, Mayu greeted him, "Bienvenue maître à domicile!" It was the strange male from the prior day, he wore a gray newsboy hat and dark glasses which he went to remove but Mayu shook her head, he gave a small nod in return to her jovial grin, so she guided him to her side. He looked at the round table, he circled it once, and then moved the chair so that he could watch outside. Mori stared at the strange male but he didn't say anything instead Mayu offered him coffee or tea.
