Chapter 23 - Child of the Blood Eclipse

Red eyes looked at another pair of red eyes, she was quiet, he was quiet, and the woman took in a breath as the car drove along at a slow pace. Her mind was filled with the image of her aunt strapped to machines that monitored her vital signs, intravenous fluids pumped into her, and the bruising on her face and limbs while the rest was covered by cloth. It was a sight that she wouldn't soon forget but a sight that she wanted to put onto Daiki, her eyes narrowed, and the male across from her kept silent. She gathered her thoughts and started, "Daiki put my Aunt Miho, Selka's sister, in the hospital. She's hooked up to machines and fluids but her body is bruised terribly. As if she was in a car accident or someone beat her to make a point."

"How do you know it's Daiki?" asked Ritsu.

"Because I called my mother prior to entering the hospital. She told me that it was Daiki's doing because he wants Amaterasu and I'm the closest one to her so he's after me."

"I guess our warning didn't take effect."

"I suppose not."

Ritsu's eyes glittered dangerously, "We're going to make him understand this time." Mayu only nodded, "But I don't understand your role in this Mayu. It's very dangerous for you and he might actually do something that you're not comfortable with."

"I'm fine Ritsu. I'm glad that you worry about me but I'll be fine. This ends now because I won't have him harm anyone else that I care about. Next time it could be Reiko, Mei, Haruhi, or, Amaterasu forbid, Kotoko or even those from Chateau Bunny. He already threatened Selka by saying that if she didn't tell him who I was close with on their side of the family then he would tear Kuyomi from her body." Ritsu sat there shocked along with Yoshi and Tetsuya, "Yeah, I was shocked too and she sounded genuinely concerned about it. So much that she called it barbaric and I know she's never used any of those terms before. She even admitted to hating me but she said she has morals and something like that shouldn't happen so she told him. "

"What's the plan?" asked Yoshi.

"I haven't figured one out yet but we have time. His house is in Kyoto and I'm sure Yoshi's already got the location." Yoshi affirmed this while the others nodded and she was quiet, "I was born on a Lunar eclipse on June twenty-first, the summer solstice of a sheep year." They were staring at her in disbelief, "I'm a child of the blood moon and it's time that I act like one."

"What do you mean?" asked Ritsu.

Tetsuya smiled, "She means that she has a temper that's ready to flare out of control. She's kept it locked away, hidden behind the penumbra inside her but it's time to remove the veil." Mayu smiled and nodded, "When directed upon a chosen target, I'm sure your beast will have all the satisfaction it wants for months to come." Mayu nodded once more, "I understand Lady Mayu. We are going to do everything in our power as a Syndicate to make sure that Daiki Honto truly understands what it means to disregard the Kasanoda Syndicate warning."

"Thank you Tetsuya."

"My pleasure although I do think that you would be most welcome to join us." She laughed and he smiled, "You are our friend and we will do anything to help you which includes me making a phone call to the Sendo Syndicate. It's time Daiki knew just how many friends you have in the shadows of Lord Tsukuyomi." The maiden grinned devilishly and Ritsu was shocked that the heir to the Sendo Syndicate would willingly call upon those he trusted most to come and aid him with this matter. When she asked what the price was, he only smiled warmly, "For being such a ray of light in a bleak world is thanks enough although performing a tea ceremony for the Syndicate meeting would be delightful."
