Remember when I stopped that ceiling beam from crushing Taylor's leg?
Yeah, well, here we are. Me and Travis. And a Taylor on crutches.
"Hey, on the bright side," I said, "You beat the crap out of Bree in that tournament!"
"Only to get the island's boiler geoleaped right over my leg, ahem!" Taylor ranted, jerking her head over in Travis's direction.
"Hey!" Travis protested, "I was just trying to win a tournament! And Adam pretty much lasered half my face off in the finals, so I think we're even."
"No," Taylor said, using her speed kick to kick Travis in the place where the sun don't shine.
"Now we're even," she said.
I started laughing while Travis groaned. At that moment, Douglas ran into the room like it was the end of the world.
"Guys, you need to see this, now!" he said, panicked.
"What is it?" Taylor asked.
"Don't tell me- is the island being destroyed again?" I asked.
"Is it an invention that relieves the pain that this one inflicts?" Travis asked, still wincing.
"No," Douglas said, "I've finally gotten over Giselle but Donnie isn't letting me leave the island tonight for our date!"
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because he said so," Douglas mocked.
"'The date's gonna escalate, and you already have enough children' what a buzzkill," I agreed.
"How did you know what he said?" Douglas asked nervously.
"I have eyes everywhere and ears everywhere else," I explained, "That's weird?"
"Yes," Travis, Taylor, and Douglas confirmed in unison.
"Okay," Travis said, "Why are you telling us this?"
"I need you guys to sneak me off the island," Douglas said.
"Why not?"
"Absolutely!"
"Why didn't you just ask us?"
"Okay," Douglas said, "Now that that's settled, how is this little operation going to work?"-That Night-
"This plan is stupid," Travis whispered in my ear, as we hid in the dark academy.
"That's why it's gonna work," I whispered back.
"How does that logic work?" Travis asked.
"Easy," I explained, "Everyone just assumes that we'd completely overthink this escape plan, but when we don't we slide right under the radar."
"Still don't get how this will work," Travis whispered, shaking his head.
"Well, if you don't want to do it, I can't reverse the effects of your face repair," I muttered.
"I'm sold, let's do this," Travis responded quickly.
"Okay," I said into my watch (only because it made me feel like James Bond, or something), "Do your thing, Taylor."
"Don't need to be told twice," she said back. I turned the watch off.
"This is gonna be loud," I thought. Then Taylor's scream pierced my ears.
We were on the flipping other side of the academy! However, this would wake up everyone. Man, does it pay to have a friend on crutches and a convincing fake scream. After a minute, the screaming stopped. That was the signal.
Travis geo-leaped out and back in with Douglas. Sadly, there were gel-leap sensors in the commons area, so we had to go on there by foot. The three of us snuck towards the hydro-loop. We were almost there when I heard Bree's super speed. Not even knowing what I was doing, I grabbed Douglas and turned invisible. I had forgotten that I had that. I went behind a desk, moved some stuff around, and turned us visible. However, Travis was still in plain sight and I needed to get Douglas to the hydro-loop. Thankfully, when Bree speeded in, Travis had a plan.
"Hey," Travis said, "You look pretty today."
"You really think so?" Bree asked, her desperation for a boyfriend completely distracting her from Travis's wanderings.
"Yeah," Travis confirmed, as convincingly as possible, "Hey, let me, um, let me look at your pretty face in the, uh, the light?"
"Sure," Bree said giddily, pulling him into the other room, but not before Travis could shoot me a 'You totally owe me' look.
After they were gone, I nudged Douglas, and let him into the hydro-loop.
"Good luck," I said, that being the only thing I could think of.
"Thanks," Douglas responded, and left.-The Next Day-
After morning training, Taylor, Travis, and I sat together for lunch.
"Well, last night was interesting," I said.
"Hey, all I did was scream," Taylor began.
"All I did was flirt with Bree and then say I confused her with someone else," Travis continued.
"And all I did was do what I do best. Be invisible," I finished.
"You know," Travis said, "We did a pretty bang up job."
"And that was sneaking someone else off the island," Taylor said, "Imagine what we could do if we snuck ourselves off the island!"
"A night out!" I suggested.
"Let's do it," Travis said.
We put our hands at the center of the table, and shot them outward, shouting, "T, T, and a random G!"
The whole student body looked at us weirdly.
"That just happened," I muttered, sitting back down."-In a Secret Lair, Unbeknownst to Garrett but Knownst to Wattpad-
Fern turned off the monitor that showed the footage of the academy.
"A night out," she mused evilly, "Perfect."

March 28, 2016
Ooh, cliff hanger! Don't worry, this isn't that everlasting cliff hanger that was used in my previous book. I've been planning this next chapter for weeks, and it's gonna be another one of my famous action, sorry, failed action scenes! Get ready, it's gonna be bad. You may interpret that any way you want, I genuinely don't care.
Anyway, I don't have much to say besides that. To all of my Christian reader, Happy Easter (or day after, same effect). Enjoy the last few days of March!
Until next week,
AJ
