The Fortune Cookie

"Oh sardines! a fortune cookie!" Ayse chirped clapping her hands and bouncing up and down just as if a 4 year old had been awarded by a sweetie.  There is something so intoxicating about an excited child. They bounce, they pounce, they squeal and they run. As their grins get wider everyone about them starts to smile - even the curmudgeons who love to complain. That's how Ayse was today, as if she was bursting with liquid sunshine from within. 

"Ayse! Do you remember as kids we used to always swap the cookies with eachother because we thought that the fortune strip is in eachothers cookie?" James grimaced molding his hands into a clap.

"Oh those were days! now its just me and my lonely self in an all girls school, what sad times ay?" Ayse sighed, pouting her lips into a puppy face. 

"Not anymore, you have all these lovely friends now, cherish the moment!"Sienna hummed, bringing in with her a second batch of her wonderful homemade cookies. "Ok kids choose your pick! I have written something in every cookies there my self!"

I am not a too picky person my self or hyper but I try to make a great impression of my self, just for the sake of it. Therefore I let all the maniacs rush past to grab their cookies all hoping for the 'fortune' to be in their cookies.

"And they are hot so do be careful, we don't want another accident do we," Sienna joked as she eyed Ayse and grimaced gracefully. "Oh darling Ellie, time flies isn't it, I better get going for the job interview, might be late though so do warm up the food which I have left for you in the microwave, LOL, bye!" she chirped as she planted a little kiss on Ellie's cheeck and rushed by. 

"Mum LOL doesn't mean Lots of Love you know!" Ellie informed well screamed so her mum could hear but to her dismay she had already left the house as she laughed at her mum's wackiness. 

"Well come on Cara, get the last cookie!" Amy chirped. She loved all the little fun things and couldn't get even more elated then what she already was. I quickly grabbed the last cookie on the plate and in the count of three we all took a bite. The thin strip was visible now, so without a haste I grabbed the thin paper and read what it said.

'The One You Love Is Closer Than You Think'

That wasn't what I was expecting at all. Love? what is love anyways? An array of back-stabbing? Or hatred? Or even cheating? If thats what love is, then in the almighty swell of humanity I have been in love. In love with Dane. 

"Oh flip, my one doesn't tell me anything, all it says is 'I cannot help you, for I am just a cookie', ugh,"Emma sighed, scrunching the 'fortune' in her palms and throwing it in the bin. 

"Oh my one is kinda hilarious, again not to telling me something but its funny- you will live a long, long time enough to open many, many more fortune cookies," Ayse claimed as she ate the last few crumbs on the plate. 

"Well at least you will live a long time, my one is just weird, all it says is, He who gets the credit gets the blame, is that supposed to be bad?" Leon asked sarcastically as he went over to the bin to throw the paper away.

"Uh guys am I like a muppet? Cause my one goes like this- your resemblance to a muppet will prevent the world from taking you seriously," Amy asked as we all fell into fits of laughter as she eyed us all confused. "Well I take that as a yes or a no?"

"Uhm yes! My one is kinda cute-Big journeys begin with a small step!" Ellie smiled, pleased with her 'fortune' as the room was gushed with 'awes' and 'oooos'. 

"Ok this is so damn cheesy, everybody listen to this- Don't be afraid to smile, you never knows who's falling in love with it," James blushed as he looked straight at me, quite shocked myself. I quickly looked away towards Ayse, who was looking at me and James very intently as her smile flopped. 

"Cough, cough enough of staring James, Cara what does your one say?" Ayse asked. 

"Well, it's not entirely true but ok here goes-The one you love is closer than you think" I gushed as everybody started whooing me and Ellie being Ellie nudged my elbow, and did some weird winky face. "Oh stop it, will ya!" I sighed, trying so hard to let my emotions drool. 

"Awe any high school crush ay?" Leon smirked as I gave him a bored face, forming the words NO. Obviously I was telling the truth, there is no one that I LOVE anymore, I do like someone but thats not love so its the truth!

"Uh well, I think we better be going now? don't you think?" Ellie asked as she looked at me and Amy as I nodded and complying with me was Amy. 

So sorry for the long wait and moreover its really short! I will try updating more often, well I said that last time but it didn't live up to the plans but I shall definately try my best. Do comment any other possible outcomes ans any spelling errors.
