Restless baby

Joe gets up and walks up and down the plane with Matthew. Matthew continues to cry as he raises his hand to his ear, "Aww have your ears popped baby?" Joe coos. "Let's go see mummy, she doesn't seem herself either" Joe says.

Joe goes back to Niamh who has her head between her legs holding a paper bag to her mouth as the stewardess sees to her."Niamhy are you alright?" he asks.

She is sick into the bag then mutters "I will be."

"Have some more water" he says as he gets her a new cold bottle.

"Don't think my breakfast agreed with me" Niamh says.

"Oh dear, well Matty isn't in great form either" Joe says.

Niamh smiles and laughs "oh god I could be pregnant" she laughs.

"But you're not right?" Joe asks a little shocked.

"No most defiantly not" Niamh laughs.

"How are you defiantly sure?" he asks.

"Can't be" she laughs.

"But how do you know that for a fact?" Joe asks slightly worried now.

"Joe I was pulling your leg, I'm not pregnant" Niamh says reassuringly. "I know we has unprotected sex but I'm fine" she says.

"Although I'm a frequent flyer, I'm not a big fan of plane" she laughs.

"Niamh stop changing the subject, maybe a pregnancy test wouldn't go a miss when we get home" Joe suggests.

"Joe, I'm not pregnant" she laughs.

"Sure?" Joe says.

"Yes I'm sure, I don't need to take a pregnancy test" she says.

Joe nods and smiles happily at Niamh but still a little conscious that she could be.

"Well your son is very restless" Joe says.

Niamh nods and takes Matthew off him and lies him against her chest. "What's wrong petal?" Niamh coos as she rubs his back.

Matthew starts to calm down and holds onto Niamh's top. "There wee man it's okay" Niamh says, Matthew starts to drop off to sleep on Niamh.

Niamh puts his blanket over him, She kisses his head "oh he's sleepy again" Niamh smiles at Joe.

"I think we all are" Joe says.

Later on, the plane is coming into land but Matthew is kicking off big time. "It's okay Matthew mummy's got you" Niamh says as he is kicking and screaming and seems very agitated.
Niamh puts his dummy in his mouth and strokes his head as he's strapped to her lap. "Oh baby I know" Niamh says as he whimpers as he raises his hand to his ears.

Niamh bounces Matthew a bit but Matthew isn't settling especially when they touch down. "Fresh air will do him good" Joe says.

Niamh nods as they are allowed to leave the plane so Joe gets the hand luggage out of the over head lockers. "Hey look wee man, we're back at home" Niamh says as they walk down the steps of the plane.

Matthew blinks frantically as the cold air and wind hits them. "There we go" Niamh smiles as Matthew waves his arms happily.

Joe smiles at Matthew as the follows them down the steps to the bus which takes them to the airport. "Someones happy now aren't they?" Joe smiles as Matthew is smiling happily.

"I've never seen him smile so much" Niamh giggles.

"Looks like he's happy to be home" Joe laughs.

"Seems so" Niamh says

Matthew looks at Niamh and Joe wide eyed and starts to babble to them. They collect their luggage and Niamh puts Matthew in the pram once Joe gets it.

Matthew looks up at Niamh and continues to babble. "Hey cheeky chappy" Niamh giggles.
He squeals a little which makes Niamh laugh as she's never seen him be this noisy before. "Your being ever so vocal today" Niamh coos as Joe comes back over.

"Is someone being noisy?" Joe coos as he peers into the pram. Matthew kicks his legs frantically and smiles.

"I guess someone is excited to be home" Niamh smiles as they head out of the airport and to the car. Joe puts Matthew in the car and leaves Niamh to put the heavy suitcases in the car.

"Joe, these suitcases are nearly the height of me" she says as she can't lift it. Joe finishes strapping Matthew in securely and then comes round to Niamh and lifts them in for her.

She gets into the car and looks round at Matthew to see him drifting off. Niamh smiles as she gets into the front of the car.

Joe gets into the car and starts the engine, "he's deffinatly really sleepy" he says as he looks over a Niamh.

He pulls out and they drive home. "I can't wait to be in my bed again...that flight was hell" she moans.

"Shall we go to the shop and get some milk and bread?" Joe questions.

Niamh nods, "I have to admit I am sort of hungry" she says. Joe nods in agreement and decides to go to the tesco's down the road.
