Paige POV

Actually, i kind of like the idea of putting my work on hold. I've been OT quite a few times lately and hence makes me late for school every Monday.

The fact that Dylan is tutoring me math everyday after school is no joke. Why did he even agreed to help me? Tsk...tsk...tsk...

True to mum's word, everyday before i go to sleep, either Mum or Dad will do their routine check on me whether or not i have completed my homeworks. What is this? Im not a kid anymore mum, dad. Im a grown up teenage, for God's sake! There's one time i did not do one of the homework. I totally forgotten about it. Dad found out and i have to burn the midnight oil to complete that piece of shit. Honestly speaking, i have become more discipline when dad or mum do their routine checks on me. I can't deny the fact that i have shown some improvement in all of my subjects. Mum's idea about the daily checks actually works for me. I have the motivation or the encouragement, you can say, to do well in studies.

This time, the amount of slacking that i spent is totally zero percent. Except sleeping though. I have not been hanging out with Shay and Scarlette after school. Only during our break time. My parents even put a curfew on me. I have to come back home straight after school and start my tuition session with Dylan. Totally no freedom. Sad life.

I solemnly keep a promise to myself that i will never disappoint my parents this time round for finals and also, never want to waste Dylan's effort in tutoring me math on a daily basis. I will make them proud of me. Just wait and see.

I am currently in my bedroom with Dylan teaching me math. He is sitting on the roller chair while me sitting on my bed with a pencil between my lips and a notebook on my lap. Dylan is holding onto math textbook.

"Look. See the pattern already? It is actually easy,Paige. You just have to put in more effort to study them carefully." Dylan explained some things about math. I nodded, understandingly.

"Okay. Let's try doing this question. Sketch a graph of y = (x-8)(x+4)." Dylan instruct.

After making some calculations and followed the step by step that Dylan had taught me, i sketch the graph. After finalizing my answer, i showed it to Dylan.

"Is it correct?" I asked him impatiently.

"Hmm... Yes indeed! Great job!" Dylan praised. I clapped my hands together. I was really in jovial state.

"Alright, alright come down. Try the next question." Dylan said, too eager for me to do the next one.

This is what happen everyday after school. Dylan would choose questions for me to complete and then he would mark. He even bought for me a math revision booklet. He told me that i have to complete every single questions in that booklet before finals begin. Challenge accepted. Not only that, he even make his tutoring lesson more fun by buying my favorite chocolate –Ferrero Rocher, if i get all questions correct. Plus, he would bit by bit share his stories during our break time. Indeed, this method of studying really gives me the motivation that i need.

"Let's take a 15 minute break." I told Dylan. My brain needs some rest.

"Sure. Not more than that, okay? We still have a few more questions to practice." Dylan said, politely.

"Yay! Story time!" I said enthusiastically. Dylan only rolled his eyes.

"What do you still want to know, Paige?" He groaned.

"You don't mind accepting your parent's request? I mean, it is about who you are going to spent your whole life with, Dylan." Not nosy, but for my information, guys.

"It's not like i have no choice,Paige. I just don't want to disappoint my parents. They work hard enough already and their business is really going well. If i were to say no to them, that's it. Kate's parents are really strict in their business. They can anytime say no to my parent's project and then my parents will never earn any money from their business. It's really hard, Paige." He sounded miserable and morose.

"Have you tried telling them about this, yet?" I asked.

"No."

"See. That's the thing, Dylan. You would create all these thoughts and then you'll get scared to face the truth. Who knows, your parents will understand your situation since you're considered an adult teenager already. Now, the question is do you really love Kate?" I feel like I'm a counsellor.

He hesitated for a moment before answering, " No. I regards her as my sister only. Nothing more."

Out of sudden, i felt so relieved to hear that.

"So, what are you waiting for, Dylan? Try to tell your parents about your feelings and all these forced relationship with Kate. Just remember, this is about your life. You should be the one creating your perfect life, not others." I persuaded him.

"Look, I'm not trying to get you into trouble okay? I'm just here to help you." I added, earning a chuckle from Dylan.

"Get me into trouble? Why would you think that way? Paige, you have given me the best advice in the world. I felt so stupid to think that way. Please, don't you ever have that kind of thoughts again, yeah?" Dylan put both his hands on my shoulders, looking at me straight in the eyes. I have to look away to break his intense stare.

"I...i guess 15 minutes is up. Let's continue our studying." I stuttered.

"You okay?" Dylan asked suddenly.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Nothing. It's so rare to see you so into math." Dylan smirked.

"I'm trying my best to beat the top math student in class." I mocked.

"Oh really? Challenged gladly accepted." Dylan gave me that playful smirk only when i smack his head.

"You idiot. Quit feeling so proud." I rolled my eyes.

"Jealous?" He said teasingly.

"Never been." I replied.

"Okay okay. I think arguing with you will never stop until forever. This time for real, let's start revising." Dylan said in a straight face before he burst into hysteric laughter. Soon enough for me to join.

"Everything okay in there?" Mum asked from outside my bedroom door.

I covered Dylan's mouth for him to stop laughing and compose myself before answering my mum. "Everything is perfectly fine in here, mum!"

"Good. If you kids need anything, I'll be downstairs watching TV, okay?" Mum said.

"Okay!" I shouted from my bedroom.

After i could no longer hear mum's footstep, i let out a relief. I turned to Dylan to see my hand still covering up his mouth. I pulled my hand away too quickly. A faint blush crept up my cheeks. A smile is tugging on Dylan's face. He looked at me, amused.

"What?" I asked him, can't hide the smile that is forming on my unglam face.

"Nothing. Shall we continue where we have stopped?" He sounded so off.

I nodded.

Our remaining session for today is spent awkwardly. Dylan explained, i nodded. I did the question, Dylan marked. Soon, time for Dylan to head home. I send Dylan to the front door and bid him goodbye. As usual, before i went to bed, mum did her spot check on me.
