Since I love drawing as well as writing, I thought I would make this book to share some of my art with you guys. I'll post a lot of stuff from the past as well as newer stuff I've been working on. Right now I mostly make Monstercat fanart using penc...

This was a mini 'poster' I did to showcase Capital Kings' latest album 'II' by implementing a tiny bit of every song. In short, I envisioned the best visuals I could come up with to represent the lyric I chose for each one and made them all fit together. I did incorporate elements from the audio videos for some of the songs into their design, such as the lightbulb from Afterlight, the dots (making up the text), grid, and particles from Upgraded, the stars, satellite, and cube from Satellites, the columns from Northern Sky, the city skyline and aerial freeway from Forever, and the symmetrical waves from Live For the Drop. To get started, I first researched each song, planned out what order to put them in and how to string them together, and then did a very light sketch to make sure I got the layout correct and didn't lose focus of the amount of space I had while I was working. Since I had the idea for doing this for a long time and knew that it would be a big project that would take a while to complete, I put all my focus on the design for one to three songs each day I decided to work on it, and did however much I could get done. I think it came together nicely in the end, and the way the Capital Kings logo, II logo, and triangle prism are all laid out in the center works just like I wanted it to. Everything was very well thought out in terms of where the songs would go, and the lyric segments of Satellites and Northern Sky were actually meant to go together as one continuous string, we're satellites -- way up in the northern sky (quite cool for me since those are my two favorite tracks on the album). There are so many things I could talk about, but I'm not going to go into each individual song too much. I like how the font on Fireblazin' came out with the heart burning underneath it, I really love how Northern Sky turned out with its effects from the video, everything on Live For the Drop was pretty neatly done, and I surprised myself with how much the parallel illusion of the satellites underneath the Satellites line reflects how it looks in the video. I think everything could flow together a tiny bit better, but overall, I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out, and I hope to show it to Capital Kings someday.
I get very inspired to do drawings like this and know exactly what I want the result to be, and when I start I have a huge amount of energy for it, but by the time I'm done and looking back, I would never do the project over again. I'm done with it, 99% of the time pleased with it, and that's it. Each project is a one-time thing that I work hard to nail the first and only time. That's something I really love about being an artist; I just think the way my inspiration works is very neat. If I get enough inspiration after this, I might also do a poster for Northern Sky (which is probably my favorite track on II), but for now, I hope you guys enjoy this one and I would highly recommend checking out Capital Kings' latest album if you love EDM and atmospheric vibes!
