Seraph123328, this is my entry for your contest! It is the scene from Chapter 15 of Attack Book 2: London, England, where Seraph, Dilumi, and the Pegboard Nerds go cosmic bowling after their show. I was as accurate as possible in terms of the clothing and other things such as the colors of the bowling balls. At first, I had in mind to make this a traditional artpiece, but I changed my mind and did it digitally so I could be more accurate with the lighting. I think it turned out pretty well, considering this is a hard angle to work at. I approached this a bit differently since I was working digitally. I laid out a blue background for my first layer, then created a transparent layer over it on which I drew rough stick figure sketches of the characters in their positions, as well as some lines to give my mind some definition of the angle I was working with. With the second layer visible, I'd start to lay down each character in the first layer in their actual position, then made the second layer invisible until I needed it again for reference. I also wrote some notes about the clothing on the second layer to get to them easily, so that layer basically just became a reference tool. I drew the lanes first, then the ball dispenser, then Mike and the couch, then Seraph, then Alex, then Dilumi. Dilumi's posture was definitely the hardest to draw. Before any of this, I added the burn effects in the upper left corner to make it darker. I also added some burn on the bottom left corner. It was actually due to these effects and the way they're shaped that I was able to do the cool designs on the couch, just by filling in some of the curves that were different shades. Digital art opens up some pretty cool opportunities. The lights (white dots circling the lanes, red dots on the ground, orange dots lining the lanes) were the last thing I drew, and I did them with dot effects, so they weren't as complicated as they look. This piece was done with ArtStudio on my iPad.
