The nature park was filled with life yet deserted by people the only sounds were the rustling trees against the silent breeze and chirping of birds singing to each other in a tranquil song. Jessica's small frame lay against the soft grass that seemed to tickle her back and legs. Her white dress sprawled out like a blanket. She felt weightless for a five year old girl.
"Yeah, Yeah. Just get the papers in bye monday as well as the resume bye tuesday." Jessica's mum paid no attention to the trees or the grass not even the birds, Instead she busied herself with calls to and from work.
Her older brother on the other hand stuffed his face with as many sandwidges he could find. Her Dad only laid there silently asleep on the picnic blanket. He and Jessica thought alike in a way that her brother and mother could never understand.
While everyone was busy paying no attention to her whatsoever, Jessica saw her opportunity of adventure as she snuck away into the pine tree forest like a cat sneaking into the shadows.
The forest called to her pulling her in, like a tide pulling in grains of sand with each wave.
As she walked something glistened in the corner of her eye. Jessica looked down to see a blue pebble that sparkle under the sun. Its colours seemed to move and transform like a smoke was captured inside. She picked it up and observed the colours swerve around the small stone.
Another glistened in the corner of her eye, She walked towards it captivated by its beauty.
Another glistened and then another until there was a trail of them heading deeper into the forest. Intrigued by the strange stone Jessica followed the trail, until the stone trail abruptly stopped.
Jessica looked around only to see the most beautiful water hole she has ever come across. the water was as clear and blue as the sky above, A small waterfall fell peacefully into the water. She felt hot and bothered and the water seemed so cool and calm. The water called to her, lewered her in like a fish to a hook. She stepped cautiously into the water. It was so pleasant that she lost her train of thought and began to walk further and further into the water hole, Deeper and deeper. Jessica was in a trance, One that she didn't even know was pulling her in. She felt worm, silky hands grip her legs, they seemed so pleasant so welcoming that she didn't mind.
When she was up to her hips the once soft warm hands become coarse, hard and sharp. She shrieked as the began to tug on her pulling deeper against her will, ripping at her skin. Sheering pain spread through her legs as she screamed out for help. When she up to her chest an overwhelming weight fell on her, A pressure that knocked all of the air out of her lungs. Two new hands that sent small electric shocks down her back grabbed her under her arms as everything around her blurred in a speed that she never thought was possible. she was flying.
Before she new it she was placed gently down far away from the wicked water hole. Jessica looked up expecting her savour to be a knight in shining armor or a king dressed in red and gold. But she sat there shocked as she looked up to she a boy.
He seemed only a few years older than her. His presence was so familiar but she has never seen anybody like him before. His hair was jet black coated with water droplets that shone like stars in a clear black night. His skin was tanned unlike her fragile pale complexion and his eyes seemed so inhuman so strange that if she stared long enough , violent shivers worked there way down her spine.
his eyes resembled the eyes of a cat slanted, warm and a green so bright that it almost glowed.
"Jessica. are you ok?" Said the boy with a voice so pure it slipped through him like velvet.
"jessica?" He repeated her name. How did her know her name?
"I I I'm f fine" She stuttered in dismay.
the boy crouched down in front of her calmly trying hard not to scare her, they both looked down at her legs. Her legs were stained red as many strips of her skin were peeled away by the talons of the water creatures. She whimpered at the sight of it, The pain now rushing in like a tsunami of hurt. "do you want to see a magic trick." He said with a innocent grin plastered on his face. She nodded, as silent tears streamed down her face.
"count back from ten." He said calmly as his gaze flickered to her legs
"10, 9, 8," His gaze was fixated on her legs, his hands gently wrapped around her ankles as he closed his eyes. concentration spread across his face.
"7, 6," she looked down at her legs as she watched in shock as the blood vaporised and the cuts slowly one by one got smaller.
"5,4" a tingling sensation worked its way up her legs and back down again, It got stranger as her cuts got smaller.
"3,2,1" she said her voice smaller than a whisper as she watched the cuts completely disappear nothing was left on her pale bare legs.
"tadaa." he said with a smile on his face. Jessica stared it him in disbelief for a long moment before letting out a small giggle as he stood up and gave out his hand to help her up.
I shot up from the dream. checking my phone And sighed as it was only 4:00am. falling back on my bed I waited for sleep to wash over me. But nothing happened because every time I closed my eyes I saw his.
