The hallways seemed endless. Kilorn and I both had no clue where we were going. from one door, to another corridor, to another hallway, to another staircase. This place was endless.

Kilorn was the only thing keeping me going. He pulls gently me with him. His tall frame and long legs made him incredibly fast compared to my short body and small figure.

I could hear Blake and Cynthia running a few corridors behind us. Blake shouts out my name. I don't understand way but everytime I hear his desperate voice call out my name something inside me hurts. Every step further we get away from Blake and his guardian I feel safer yet lost.

My breath comes out in Short desperate pants and sometimes it's the only thing I can hear. Kilorn doesn't even breathe. I wonder what it's like for him.

We reach yet another set of long stairs going up. Kilorn doesn't hesitate. Before we knew it we burst through a door. My eyes blinded by light as we ran onto the roof of the building.

My eyes adjust as we stop and look around. On the roof there was a massive garden. The garden had a graveled ground, Potted shrubs, hedges and flowers. Even a small water fountain at the base.

I look to Kilorn for help but he seems just as disoriented as me.

"What now?" I ask looking around for an option. I look at Kilorn for help, noticing His eyes seem dead. They were colorless unlike his normal feline eyes. Only a faint greyish lime colour remains.

"I don't know. The liquid in that bottle has stopped me from using my abilities, I can't do anything." He said pionting at the bottle in my hand. He spun around looking for a way to escape.

I jump as Cynthia's voice echoes up the stairs. I look around franticly. We need to pass time until the potion wears off.

The morning sun peeks over the city making me squint to see through its bright rays. I run to the edge of the roof, Looking down only to see the street below. My mind spins and dizziness sets in when I realize how high we really are.

"Jessica." I freeze as I hear blake's voice.

I turn around and face Blake. His complexion was flushed and his hair was pasted to his scalp with sweat. Cynthia was close behind. She looked flawless, as if she just walked out of a beauty pageant. Her hair blew to the side with fresh morning breeze.

Kilorn looked calm for some reason but something told me he was as frightened as I was. We stood in silence until Cynthia made her move towards us.

"Your little game is up." She spat as Kilorn and I stepped back. My side bumping into the wall of the roof.

"Don't come any closer." I yell searching for some sort of weapon.

"Oh really. Why would I?" she said walking towards me.

I knew what I needed to do, I hated it. I hate heights.

"Because you need me." I yell as I step up onto the wall of the roof. Blake and Cynthia froze wide eyed and mouth agape.

Kilorn yelled out for me to get down as he walked over to me, but I simply put my hand up and ignore him. All I need is a little time for Kilorn's abilities to come back. As if reading my mind Kilorn noded and stepped back.

Blake looked generally scared whereas Cynthia just eyed me suspiciously.

"Is that your plan, to kill your self." She said flicking flint off the shoulder of her dress and turned to me pridefully.

"Come on Jessica. You and I both know you don't want to die." she said boredom dripping from every word.

"Why would you care. You almost killed me yourself." I spit back. The heel of my foot slips and I stumble causing Blake and Kilorn to run towards me. I quickly regain my balance, managing not to look at the tiny street below. They stopped mid step when I regained my balance.

"I wouldn't care one bit if you died. But I need you to do something for me." she said stepping cautiously towards me, watching my every move.

"And what makes you think that I would do anything for you?" I ask Bitterly.

Just a little more time.

"Nothing but you would for him." she said flicking a finger effortlessly at Blake, His feature contorted to confusion as much as mine did.

In the corner of my eye Kilorn looks down at his hands before grinning and looking back at me. Our eyes lock and I see the brilliant emerald colours swim back to his eyes again as his body sprung back to life. The potion was worning off.

Cynthia senses the change in Kilorn's appearance and looks his way. Her eyes widen as he disappears reappearing at my side, balancing effortlessly on the wall.

He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me back with him until our feet slip and we begin to fall. Blake yells out but I can't hear what he says, its drowned out by my own screams and painfully cold wind whipping around our bodies. My hair flying around my face as I watch the roof of the building get further away.

A familiar feeling of cold air and a blurry scenes washes over me as we teleport.

Kilorn lets out a "uoff" as we land on hard ground with me above him.

I'm looking up through a canopy of trees to a starry night. It's night time where we are now. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

Safe.

The overwhelming feeling of relief sets in as I let myself relax.

"Can you get off of me." Kilorn grumbles. I laugh out a quick apology before rolling off of his large form onto the grass. I stay looking up at the stars, relaxed and at peace.

"Where are we?" I asked quietly as Kilorn stretches out beside me.

"The forest." He replied simply.

I look around to my familiar surroundings. Tamwood forest. The forest I played in as a little girl. I smile to myself and look up to the stars again. I missed this place. Over the years I forgot about how beautiful this forest really was. The smell of pine, earth and grass was the only thing that occupied my scrambled mind as I let myself relax.

After a minute or two my heart slowed and my breathing evened out as I fell into a deep sleep. I layed on my side as the arms of sleep caged me in and took me away. Every now and then I could feel Kilorn's warm fingers brush against my face, pushing back the stray hairs that tickled my face in the night breeze.
