The welcoming smell of flowers, spices and herbs fill my nostrils as my senses come to life. I roll over and hug my soft pillow and felt the heaviness of my blanket.
The sound of city life seeps it's way through my window, it's still dark out.
I move to get up but a searing pain worked it's way through my spine and shoulder.
I gasp as the previous hours came running back, the date, Kal, the creature, him.
The heaviness was still there and a presence lurked in the shadows.
He was still here
Looking around franticly I yelp when something pinched with in my back.
"It's best you don't strain yourself." Said a voice so pure it was like velvet.
I look towards the source to see a silhouette of a man. He was tall, lean and broad. He cocked his head to the side a if observing me.
I sat there staring it him for a long moment before gathering my courage and discarding my fears.
"What- what was that?" I breathed
"It was a ghoul, I thought you would have known." He said curiously as he walked towards my bed.
"Are you the same?" I shrink back with every step he took.
The bed dipped with weight as he sat one the end. His features becoming more visible.
He was inhumanly handsome with sharp cheekbones and jet black hair so dark that it puts the creature's venom to shame. But it was his eyes that sent me shaking. He had cat eyes; slanted and a green so pure it was almost emerald.
His feline green eyes looked at me with a slight glow not as bright as before but still bright.
"No I'm not a ghoul." He said as concern washed over his features.
"Then what are you!?" I ask cowering back as he was so close. His body radiating a strange heat.
"You don't remember me?" He concluded looking at me strangely.
"Why- why should I." I say using all the courage I had left, putting a little authority in my voice. He only chuckled lowly at my comment and moved closer to me until he was only inches away from my body.
"What-"
"Be still." He whispered, my breath caught in my throat as he peered at my shoulder and the small of my back.
The air around him was hot and even though his face was so close to my body I couldn't feel even a wisp of breath.
He examined my back and shoulder before pressing his hand lightly on my back.
My breath in my throat hitches as I fell small tingles run up and down my back easing the pain. I could feel what was once slightly swollen and bruised part of my back heal and the large cuts and scratches on my shoulder disappear.
The strange man frowned at my shoulder. I look down to see faintly in the darkness a scar of the creatures bitemark. I can't help to think that this mark will be a constant reminder of the horrid creature, of Kal.
This act was so strange but even more so familiar.
I looked at the man as he concentrated on my back. I found myself leaning into him because of the welcoming heat he holds.
Something in the back of my mind whispered at me. something so familiar. Like a smell that brings you back to your childhood but can never find the source of it.
Kilorn
My head spun as I remembered.
"Kilorn" I blurted out, breaking him from his concentration trance.
He looked at me and smiled a smile I knew all too well.
"You remember." He said as the pain in my back disappeared completely.
I didn't make sense. killorn was a childhood imaginary friend. a game a played as a girl, he is not real how could he be.
I look around thinking it's a dream or my mind playing tricks on me. Maybe it's not even Wednesday day, maybe it's still Tuesday night and my brain was just playing tricks on me.
"Jessica, are you alright." Kilorn says bringing me back from my train of thought.
"This is just a dream." I whisper as I look at his feline eyes.
"What?" His face contorted to confusion as I rambled on about waking up. That's all needed to do was wake up. Then I can go and live life normally. All I need to do is wake up.
"Jessica this is not a dream." He chuckled.
"You're just a figment of my imagination, you're not real." I continued my voice getting louder.
"What are you talking about?"
I scramble up out of the bed and look around me.
I have lost it.
I'm insane.Kilorn just sits there confused and concerned. Before he stalks towards my small frame.
Soft hands grab the sides of my face and force me to look up. Up into those insanely beautiful cat, green eyes.
"Jessica. Look at me."
"This is not a dream. I'm here, standing right in front of you." He said as he looked at me.
Something within me is screaming at me to believe him something that I buried deep within me a long time ago.
My hands drop to my sides and my head falls down to stare at the ground when I relies;
He is telling the truth.
