Mackenzie's POV
"I've missed you, Mackenzie." James said softly. I looked up into his clear, bright, green eyes.
"I've missed you too," I said shyly.
"So, we don't have dance tomorrow, and I was, um, wondering if you'd like to...to..."
"What? What is it James?" I questioned.
"Will you meet...meet me at the park tomorrow at 4?" He asked, a cloud of worry settled over his eyes. This was the most worried I've ever seen him. I felt Maddie come up behind me and tug me away.
"Wait! James called!" He looked at me with his sweet sympathy.
"YOU WILL NOT GO TO THE PARK WITH JAMES." Maddie whispered sharply into my ear. I could practically feel my heart twist with a gutwrenching sadness.
I turned to face James.
"I- I-I'm sorry but..."
