Eliza's POV (a few days after Lenny kissed Eliza)-
I need to tell Derek. If I don't he will find out somehow, I just know it. I lie in bed, staring at my ceiling. I reach over to my nightstand and move my hand around until I feel my phone, and I pick it up and turn it on. I text Derek that I will be at his dorm in an hour and a half and I pull myself out of bed. I quickly shower and go downstairs into my kitchen to make coffee. I eat a granola bar and write my mom a note saying,
"Went to Melody's. I'll be back by sundown-Love Eliza<3."
I felt bad about lying to my mom but she would be angry if she found out where I was actually going. I put my coffee in a travel mug, grab my keys, and get into my car. I'm ready for a horrible day.

I pulled up to Derek's dorm and check my phone to see if he responded. Instead I found a text from Lenny, that said,
"Please just talk to me."
I sigh and shake my head. I have been avoiding Lenny since the day we kissed. I'm still working on sign language though, and I'm getting better everyday. I took a long swig of my coffee and checked the clock on my phone. It read "7:39" and I texted Derek again.
"Hey! I'm outside in my car."
I quickly got a response saying,
"Sorry babe, just woke up. Come on up, there's a key under the carpet at the front door."
I grabbed my purse and coffee and headed into the dorm. I got to Derek's room, reached under the mat, got the key and unlocked the door. Derek's room is called a "four house room" because there's three bedrooms and a bathroom, all connected my a decent sized living room area. He had two roommates plus any of his friends who crashed at his room. Today, it seemed his friend Tim was sleeping on the sofa in the den. I quietly closed the front door and went up to the bedroom labeled "Derek's Dump" and softly knocked. Derek opened the door and pulled me into his room. I giggled as he spun me around and when we were done hugging, we sat down on his bed.
"It feels like I haven't seen you in forever Liza!" Derek says, looking me in the eyes and smiling ear to ear.
"Ya, it's been awhile."
"So, how long are you gonna hang today?"
"Not long," I respond " I have stuff to do at home."
"Awwwwww, you can't just blow it off for me?" Derek asks, making an dramatic frowny face.
I shake my head and say quietly "I need to tell you something but you have to promise not to get mad." I looked around Derek's bedroom. He always was neat and clean, making sure nothing was ever out of place.
"Of course not! I could never be mad at you!" He replied, and he held my hand. I pulled my hand away fast and moved to face him. I then started my story.
"So, there's a new kid at school. We were partners for a science project. I think I might have given him the wrong idea because I spent a few hours outside of school with him and something happened."
Derek grabbed my hand again and said "You can tell me anything."
"He kissed me. The boy kissed me and I didn't do anything back I ran anyway and I'm so sorry and-"
"No" Derek interrupted me. I felt his hand tense up and then he got off the bed, and started pacing.
"It wasn't my fault, and I told him about you afterwards and he's really sorry. I'm sorry Derek please don't be angry!" I started to cry at this point, but Derek kept pacing. Suddenly he turned to me, walked over and sat next to me on the bed in silence.
"Please just talk to me." I blurted out and I reached out to touch Derek's check to make him look at me. He grabbed my hand halfway to his face and slowly lowered it onto the bed. He turned his eyes towards me and said in a calm voice,
"You disgust me."
My eyes widened in shock.
"I go off to college and you instantly try and replace me. Was I not enough for you?"
"No! That's not it! You're perfect. I didn't even want it to happen!"
Derek held up his hand, cutting me off. He looked down, then back at me. He suddenly jumped of the bed and yelled,
"I gave you everything. You're ugly and worthless! No one will ever love you like I love you, and we are over! I can't have my girlfriend cheating on me."
I looked at him in shock. Tears were now pouring from my eyes.
"Stop crying right now!" Derek yelled at me, grabbing my arm and jerking me off the bed," Get out of my home, you disgust me. Don't ever try and contact me again."
Derek pulled me into the living room, past his awe stricken roommates. Derek would make up an excuse later to make up for the yelling and to get their sympathy. Derek pulled me to the front door of his door then suddenly stopped before throwing me out. He looked me in the eyes and said,
"You were with him the Saturday you wouldn't talk to me weren't you. You were out being disgusting and flirting with another guy and I was trying to make up an accident to you. I can't believe you." With that, Derek opened his front door, shoved me out the door and slammed it in my face. I was now in a state of shock. Everything happened so fast. I walked out of the dorm building and went to my car. I got in and took out my phone and pulled up Lenny's contact, and texted him saying,
"I need someone to talk to. Text me your address and I will be there in about two hours".
I started my engine and pulled out of the parking lot. I felt my phone vibrate and I saw a text from Lenny with his address. He apparently lives in the same neighborhood as me so I start heading towards Lenny's house. Today's going to be a long day.

Authors note:
You met Derek! He's kinda the worst😂. I think this is the longest chapter so far but that's because so much stuff happens and agh its crazy. BTW Derek has never and will never physically hurt Eliza, because domestic violence is a heavy and horrible subject I don't think I'm educated enough to cover. But have a look out for more updates!P.S.- I only got one hour of sleep last night. YAY:(((((
xoxo<3
