Eliza's POV (Lenny's house)-

"He cares about me, I know it. He loves me."

I finished telling Lenny about what had just happened at Derek's dorm. Lenny looked at me, his face full of concern. He looked down at his phone and texted me.

"Do you want me to be honest?"

I look at his text on my phone and nodded my head.

He took a second to think and then started texting. He pressed send and I looked down at my phone and read,

"I don't think you should've come here."

I look at the text in shock and I glance at Lenny. We were sitting on the curb outside of his house, our feet kind of hanging out onto the street. I quickly stand and grab my bag, that was sitting on the curb besides me.

"If that's how you feel, I guess I should go. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I'm so sorry I thought we were actually friends." The second these words came out of my mouth, I regretted them but there was nothing I could do now. I turn away and I feel Lenny grab my hand. He mouths,

"Please, just listen to me."

I turn and shake my head. I ran up to my car, which was in Lenny's driveway. Lenny tried to stop me from getting in the car by waving his hand in front of my face, which means "Hey" in sign language.

I shake my head and get into my car. Lenny looks through my window and I look away. He stands up straight and pulls his hand through his hair, which was getting really long. He breaths in slowly and walks to the side of his house and is about to walk in, when he turns to my car and waves. I keep looking forward, ignoring the wave Lenny and I know I saw. He puts his hand at his side and walks into his house. I bite my top lip, my hands gripping my steering wheel. I've tried so hard to keep it together, but I was breaking. I pulled a hand off of my steering wheel and put it to my mouth just as I started to whimper. Lenny doesn't like me anymore. He hates me and Derek hates me. It sometimes gets to hard to keep it together. I cried and cried. After a few minutes of sitting in Lenny's driveway and just watching myself fall apart, I sucked myself up and pulled out of Lenny's driveway. His house is a decent size and it is light grey. We didn't go inside but I'm guessing there was about three floors, including an attic. I started going down Lenny's street and heading towards my house. I can't go to school on Monday. I can't.
