Eliza's POV- (Outside at lunch with Lenny)

I waved bye to Lenny and Melody jogged up to me. Melody has always been the pretty one. I wished I could have somehow been the witty and clever one or the smart one but a Melody was that to. She has a 4.0 GPA and is also student council president. She appointed my vice president only because we are best friends. At our school the president gets to pick the vice president, the students only vote for the president. I had to beg Melody to put me on as her VP because it looks good on college applications. From the outside Melody's life looks perfect. Before we were best friends, I assumed that she was perfect and I wanted her to like me so bad.
"I need to talk to you. Please."
"Of course, but first should I text Lenny and tell him that I had fun at lunch? Wait, never mind. I don't want to bother him."
Melody looked at me with a mischievous look in her eye. She grabbed my phone and quickly typed a message to Lenny. I smiled and tried to grab my phone back from Melody. She sent a text to Lenny then quickly turned my phone off. She smiled and handed it back to me with a wink.
"Okay, lets go to English" Melody hooked her arm over mine and we went down the hallway. Melody started a story about her boyfriend and his new puppy. Life is good right now. I'm happy.
