"Liv look! A shooting star!"
"Make a wish J!"
"What did you wish for J?"
"If I tell you it won't come true will it?"
"My wish always will"
"Oh really? what is it?"
"That we stay friends forever"
"Best friends!"

"Ollie! You were supposed to pick me up today! I had to ride the bus and was forced to sit next to Martin Fregberg instead!" A very dramatic Ash said, with a huff, almost as if she was the fox that blew the little piggies house down.
"I'm sorry, my car stopped working and had to ask Jared for a drop. I kind of forgot about you in the process" she replied and smirked.
"Nice to know how much you love me" Ash retorted. Olivia laughed. She locked her arms with Ashleighs and pulled her towards the school.
She was a little subdued about why Jared was behaving as weird as he was, but at the same time, she was excited to walk in the doors of the school building. Although this wasn't the building she studied in before she left, it had almost all of her old friends.
"Olivia!" Someone shouted. She and Ash turned to find out it was Drew Morrison, Ashleigh's middle school crush, and Olivia's good friend. He had stayed in touch with her and they had gotten very close over the years. He was the first to know that Olivia was returning, but wasn't in town to meet her when she landed.
She smiled at him and hugged him and he said,"Took you long enough to miss us and return. I've been keeping an eye out on young Ash for you here" and he winked at Ash. She snorted and said, "More like I've been keeping an eye out on you. Who almost had diluted sulfuric acid fall on him?"
Drew's grin disappeared. "I didn't know someone even kept it at the top of the shelf! Plus the container should have been thicker than it was! That was not my fault!"
Olivia laughed and said, "I missed all this. I need to get my schedule, catch you guys later?"
Olivia walked towards the office to grab her schedule when she bumped into someone
"Watch where you're going bitch!"
Olivia was taken aback at the sudden remark, She wasn't used to people disrespecting her. She raised her eyebrows and said, "There's no need to be rude! Just walk away."
"Do you know who you're speaking to? Watch out newbie, messing with me could get you into serious trouble"
"Is everything okay here?" Olivia heard a voice behind her, and felt an arm around her shoulder.
"Jared man, this new girl's got a feisty tongue, I've got this handled though"
"Pete, cut it out, you came here last semester. Olivia's not a new girl, and she's off limits. Back off."
The sheer anger in Jared's voice when he said that caused Olivia to get goosebumps, She wasn't used to this version of Jared. This Pete guy was well built, and tall, and could easily intimidate anyone if he wished to, but instead he went silent and looked back at Olivia sheepishly.
"Oh, so you're Olivia? Welcome back! I've heard of you a lot around here"
"Pete i think I heard Kate looking for you a while back"
"Kate? Oh she's going to kill me, I have her phone! I'll see you guys around"
With that, Pete walked away hurriedly. Olivia was surprised, did Jared intimidate this guy to be nice to her?
Olivia had also noticed that people were staring at them. This was unusual as well, everyone knew Jared and her were best friends, why were they looking at them like zoo animals? And since when were new kids hazed this way? Things had changed more than she could have imagined.
"Thanks" Olivia said. Jared just nodded and moved her arm away from her.
"I have some work to do, catch you later, bye," He said and walked away.
Olivia had never been this confused in her life.
She went on with her day, She had three classes and three free periods that day, excluding lunch break. The morning consisted of Sociology, and Literature, followed by a break, followed by Psychology and then her lunch, then she was free.
When Olivia walked out of Psychology, she was surprised at how fast time had passed, she was hungry and it was just over noon.
She walked into the cafeteria, and saw not that many people were around. She got herself a cupcake, and walked into the auditorium of her school. It was an age old habit she had since middle school, to sit in auditoriums of the building she was in when she had to pass time.
She sat on a chair in the last row, far behind the right side, and munched on her cupcake while taking her phone out. She wondered how Jared was, if he even cared about how her day went. Shaking the thought out, she checked her phone for important notifications.
Drew: Ash driving me nuts, help! In the football field. Get your butt here
Smiling, she got up, and made her way to the football field, where she saw that many people who didn't have class would hang out. She found it cool, but preferred the peace of the auditorium over this place.
"Hey guys" she said, walking over to her friends
"OLLIE! DO YOU NOT AGREE THAT ZAYN LEAVING WAS A STUPID ASS DECISION?" Ash shouted while holding Olivia by her shoulders.
"Oh c'mon Ash One Direction sucks" Drew said.
They continued bickering for a moment before they shouted,"Ollie!"
"Okay okay calm down" Olivia said."Zayn is happy, so are the One Direction boys, so it doesn't matter. Their music isn't that bad so I don't think they suck, although I do feel they are overplayed at times."
This caused a blow of confusion to the two, because they weren't sure who Ollie was supporting by saying that.
They sat down on the bleachers at the top and continued speaking when Olivia caught sight of Jared.
Before she could try to catch his attention Drew said, "Don't even bother. He isn't our same old Jared anymore Ollie. He doesn't talk to any of us anymore. He spends most of his time with Kate and gang, and he even forgot to wish Ash on her birthday"
Hearing that, Olivia frowned. When she was leaving Jared would always try to beat her at being the first to wish Ash. None of this added up.
"But why?" She asked, completely bewildered.
"Its because of his mom "Jake said, joining the group and sitting down.
Jake Poskey used to date Ashleigh, but they broke up on mutual terms and decided to continue as friends. No one would have guessed they had a past, for there was absolutely no awkward moments between them, nor any problems.
Everyone else was now interested to know more.
"What?" Ash asked and Jake said,"Yeah, I heard Mrs.Roth talk about it. Apparently Jared's mom ran away with someone else, became a pretty big deal, and ever since, he's been an asshole to everyone." Drew shifted uncomfortably and then got up, grabbing his and Ashleighs food trays.
"No ways. That's impossible. Jared's mom is the sweetest person on earth she could not have just run away. He would have told me. It's not the truth" Olivia said.
"That's just what I heard cupcake. You should probably ask him if you're so sure." Jake replied.
"Fine. I will but, till then, please don't tell anyone else about this. This stays between us. Okay?" She asked, and they all nodded in agreement. "I'm headed to keep these back and take a wee, bye" Drew said and walked away. Ashleigh laughed," Who says wee anymore?"
Olivia was'nt listening. She glanced at Jared once again, and wondered... Could it be true?
