"I don't like your name'
"WHY NOT?"
"Its such a long name. 'Olivia'. I could do so much in that time."
"That's a very mean thing to say J"
"I shall give you a nickname! It will be my special name for you!"
"But everyone already calls me Ollie"
"I wont. I will call you Livvie. How about it?"
"Okay. But only YOU call me Livvie okay? Nobody else"
"Deal!"

"It's a good thing I know him well enough else I'd be bashing his head into the wall" Olivia heard her dad, Joseph say, in a low voice, almost as if he was trying to make sure he doesn't wake Jared up, who was lightly snoring beside her.
It was when her eyes properly opened and adjusted with the sunlit room that she noticed why her father said so.
Both her and Jared fell asleep beside each other, and were cuddled into each other.
'Oh my god' she thought.
She most jerked up when her instincts stopped her, begging her not to wake him up. This was the most peaceful she had seen him be since she had returned.
She slowly moved out of his arms (after ridiculously struggling since she had no upper body strength and his arms were heavy), and padded out of bed towards her dad while yawning.
"Let's take this conversation, if you could call it that, downstairs so we don't wake him up." Her father told her and walked downstairs.
Olivia stretched herself, and almost hit the lamp beside her. Remembering how clumsy she was, she slowly closed the door and hurried away before she caused a ruckus.
She walked into the kitchen and sat down on a stool in the island, Staring at her dad who was also sat, drinking apple juice.
"Why did I get a call from your school saying that you were injured, possibly concussed and were sent home?"he asked.
'Woah he went straight to the point'
"I actually was at the bleachers with Jared and the others and I fell while climbing up a step and hit my head on the corner area, and then fainted halfway to the nurses after." she replied.
'Please believe it. Please believe it. Please believe it.'
"Since the age of three you have been a clumsy little minx. You've gotta take care of yourself bud. Jared isn't gonna come to the rescue every single time" her dad said, while smiling. He then said, "I'm glad he did this time though. Heard he literally had to carry you to the nurses. When did he become that strong?" And winked.
"Are you complimenting him or indirectly insulting me?" She said and her dad laughed.
"I'm glad you're alright. I've gotta get back to work now." He added.
"You're going all the way to the office again?" She asked.
"Nope. I'll be in my study. Holler if you need me" he replied.
"Dad no one says 'holler' anymore." She replied and laughed.
She sat down on the couch, and searched her pocket for her phone as usual, but didn't find it there. That's when she remembered it was up in the room.
Slowly tiptoe-ing, she walked into the room to find Jared sitting on the carpet in front of the bed, his head in between his knees.
"Jared what's wrong!?" She asked, rushing to his side.
He jumped up at the sudden contact and stared at her. She could see his tear stained cheeks and red eyes and knew something was terribly wrong.
"Jared?" She asked, softly touching his hand. He immediately pulled away and said, "You left."
"What?"
"You left. I woke up, you weren't there. You left."
"Oh yeah, dad had co-"
"Just like that night, when she left."
"Jared I didn't-" and then she stopped. She realized what he was trying to say. He was opening up about it.
"The silence that day Liv. Like the entire room was bashing me for letting her go. Letting everyone...go."
"Jared please calm down, you haven't let anyone go."
"I gotta go home. Rest a bit more, apply ice if it still hurts. I'll talk later, bye." and got up.
But this time Olivia was prepared. She grabbed his hands and pulled him back down and said, "Jared." In a stern voice "I am not gonna leave you. Do you understand that? You're my best friend. And extremely important to me, probably the most important person in my life. Please don't ever think you're losing me."
He just nodded with a soft smile and got up and said, "Bye" and walked out.
A mix of emotions took over her when he shut the door. She had never seen anyone in such a vulnerable state. Sure she had seen her mum cry, or her dad sad, but never to such an extent of pain. Never had thier troubles given her pain like Jared's did today. Nothing compared to this emptiness she felt seeing him cry. Seeing him so broken.
She knew she needed time to gain his trust back. She knew he was afraid to lose her too. After all, it was them against the world (sans parents) since they were eight years of age.
"I'm not leaving." She said out loud, to the empty four walls surrounding her.
