   "Just kidding."

Zeref spoke out loud as he took a step back. But I could tell he wasn't. And it was that expression that his red eyes managed to craved that into my brain.

"Zeref." I paused. "Can I trust you?"

He looked taken back by my sudden question. Almost as if he was expecting me to ask something else.

"Yes. Of course." Zeref's words gave my body some-type of a calming magic because I could no longer feel anxious from everything that's happened. "Is there anything you'd like to ask? Or maybe you need my help with something?"

Zeref was waiting for an answer but I shook my head.

"Nothing. For now." I smiled and he stared at me. Those eyes could probably see right through my facade.

"Lucy..." His voice trailed. He wanted to say something but refrained when I gazed at him. "I should get going."

Ah that's right. He probably wanted to go home and yet I was keeping him back. How rude of me.

"Ah. Sorry I forgot." I smiled and he followed me as I walked him outside my apartment.

"Lucy." He called out my name as I was just about to walk back inside. "If you ever need my help, call my name."

When I went to answer him as I turned around, he was already gone...

Zeref.

Can I trust you? Your words? Or is it just a lie?

A lie that many others speak but never stay true to complete.

But this still didn't answer the question of why Zeref had possession of the golden ring from the Farix. Why would he have it and how did he get it? I was certain that I'd find the reason within time. And very soon it would be.

Later that night I couldn't sleep, I was relentlessly twisting and turning in my bed. I had a bad feeling and I didn't know what it was about. Hopefully it would go away soon, but it didn't seem like that was the case.

Hours soon passed and I woke up by a phone call from Levy.

"Hello?" I said as I rubbed my eyes that had been blinded by the sudden brightness.

"Lucy. Master wants everyone to come to the guild as soon as possible." Levy sounded worried and soon I was awake.

"I'll be there in less than fifteen minutes." I shouted to her as I stumbled out of bed. She understood and hung up the phone.

   I wonder what happened?

However, I didn't have any time to waste on thinking about what might've occurred as I hurried to fix myself.

And within thirteen minutes I was already inside the guild. Everyone was quiet and I felt my heart tug. But not it the same way it did with Zeref, it was more towards a sympathetic emotion.

Master soon took the center stage and the look upon that mans face wasn't pleasant.

"I was going to post-pone our Fairy Ball once more. However due to the circumstances that matter is still undecided." Master knew more than he was letting us in on.
