Evie comes running into her and Mal's dorm room very excited. Mal smiled.
"What are you so excited about?," Mal asked. Evie let out big breaths.
"Whoa, give me a minute to catch my breath! I ran all the way here in heels!," Evie exclaimed. Mal smirked. "Which is why I don't like to wear heels that often," said Mal.
Evie giggled. "I'm excited because we got our final exam results today!," said Evie.
"No way! Are you serious?," Mal said, immediately running to Evie, and takes the papers out of her hands. Evie chuckled.
"Yes! I got all A's!," Evie said. "Alright!," Said Mal, giving Evie a high five.
"Oh, yes!," Said Mal, a little too loudly. Evie puts her hand over her mouth.
"Shhhhh! Not so loud! People will there's an emergency, or if Jay and Carlos hear, they'll think you beat me at a game or something!," said Evie, quietly.
Mal removed Evie's hand from her mouth. "Sorry. I also got all A's. I heard all our friends also passed!," said Mal, excitedly.
"Yes! We have now officially passed junior year!," Evie said.
"Yeah we have!," Mal said. They high fived again.
Evie got up and went to the table. "Well, there's only one week of school left. What are we going to do this summer?," said Evie.
Mal stood up. "I don't know. I don't think I want to go to the Isle, that's for sure," said Mal. "Uh, yeah!," said Evie, nodding.

"Hey Evie?," Mal said. "Yeah?," Evie looked up at her friend.
"Do you ever think about who your dad is?," Mal asked. Evie sighed.
"Not really. I've done just fine not having one around. What about you?," asked Evie, sounding interested in what Mal would say. "Well, I actually think about it a lot. I mean, I know I get a lot of my features from my mom, but sometimes I just wonder what he's like. Do I get any features from him? My mom always said that I was such a disappointment, and that I'm just a lousy human like my father."
Evie let out another sigh. "Wow. That's pretty awful for her to say that to you. But I can relate." Mal looked up at her. "Really?," she asked.
"Yeah. My mom always said how I was such a disappointment, that I needed a prince to have true happiness, and that I was never beautiful enough for that," Evie said, looking down. Mal's eyes widened. "Wow. That sounds harsh. I mean, Ben makes me happy, but my friends make me happy too. A lot of things make me happy," Mal said.
Evie smiled, then she looked like she just got a lightbulb over her head. Her eyes widened.
"I just got an idea!," exclaimed Evie.
"What is it?," Mal asked.
"What if we spend the summer looking for your dad?!," Evie suggested.
"I-I don't know, Evie," said Mal, sounding unsure. "Oh, come on, Mal!," Evie said. Mal sighed. "Fine I'm in."
"Yay!," said Evie, clapping her hands. "Let's go tell the others!," said Evie, sounding very excited.
"Wait, what? Are they coming with us?!," Mal asked.
"If they agree to it, then, yes. Yes, they are coming. Don't worry. They'll think it's fun," said Evie.
"Ok, Evie. If you say so," Mal said. "Come on!," said Evie, pulling Mal out the door.

Evie knocks on Carlos and Jay's dorm room door. "Jay! Carlos! Open up!," she yelled.
She and Mal heard a scream come from the other side of the door, and a voice that yells, "They're coming after us!"
Mal and Evie giggle. Another voice calls, "Coming!" Jay opens the door.
He sees Mal and Evie standing there. "It's just Mal and Evie! Quit being such a scaredy cat!," Jay yelled back into the room.
"I am not a scaredy cat!," yelled Carlos. Carlos and Jay start to fight.
Evie breaks up the fight. "Guys! Guys! Ok. Here's the deal. We all go on a road trip this summer to find Mal's dad."
Carlos got excited. "Cool! I'm in!" Jay was excited, but not as much as Carlos.
"Ok, I'm in, but we don't exactly know Auradon's geography," said Jay.
Mal thinks. "Huh. Good point. Let's get the others to come with us," she said.

"She kissed me! She kissed me! She kissed me! She kissed me! She kissed me!" Ben ran down the halls around the whole school.
He was soon stopped by Mal, who covered his mouth.
"Ben! It was just a kiss on the cheek! It doesn't mean anything!," Mal told him.
Ben slowly nodded like he understood. Mal removes her hand from his mouth.
"Okay, we are going on a road trip this summer to find my father. Care to join us?," said Mal.
"Of course! That sounds awesome!," Ben replied.
"Good. Because we don't know Auradon's geography," Mal said.
"Okay. We can also look for a map in the library. Should we ask the others to join us?," Ben suggested. "Sure. That's where we we're headed," said Mal.

They approach the picnic area. "Evie you go ask Doug. We'll go ask the others," said Mal, as she began walking over to the others at the picnic table.
"Hey Jane, Lonnie, Audrey, and Chad," she said, approaching them.
"Hey," They said in unison.
"Ok, so, do you guys want to go on a road trip this summer, to find my father?," Mal asked. "Sure," They all said in unison again.
"Beats sitting at home alone with mice and other animals. Plus, I really want something to do with my friends this summer," said Chad. "Yeah, me too," the others said. "Great. Come on!," Mal said. They left to go get Evie and Doug.

******************

"Hey Doug!," Evie said, walking over to him. "Hey Evie!," he replied.
"So, do you want to go on a road trip to find Mal's father, this summer?," she asked.
"Sure! That sounds fun! Also, it beats sitting at home with at of my uncles and cousins," said Doug.
"So, including you and your dad, that's fourteen people living in one place?," asked Evie. "Yeah, pretty much." Doug sighed.

*******************

"Doug's in!," Evie said, running over to Mal and the others with Doug.
"They are too!," said Mal, looking behind her. "This summer's going to be awesome!," said Carlos.
"Yeah it is!," said Jay. "1, 2, 3, SUMMER!!!!!!," they all yelled, doing a huge fist bump together.
