Lonnie's POV:
Carlos, Jay, and I had been walking through the woods for a few minutes now, collecting wood for the fire, when finally someone striked up a conversation.
"So, how's things going with Jane, Carlos?," Jay asked him, smirking.
"Everything's going great. She's amazing," he said, blushing.
"Awww, are you blushing?," I teased him. He chuckled a bit. "No," he said, scoffing.
"Okay, okay," I said, putting it to rest because I could tell he was embarrassed.
"Well, what about you Jay? How are things going with Audrey?," I asked, curious of what he would say, after Carlos's answer.
He looked a bit surprised or taken aback. "Uh, good, yeah, things are going pretty okay, I guess," he said, sounding like he wasn't really sure what to say.
"You guess?," Carlos asked questionably, giving him a look.
Jay sighed. "Well, you know how she is. You just kinda never know with her," he said, explaining.
Carlos and I nodded slowly. "Understandable, she's like that sometimes," I said.
"Okay," Carlos said slowly, a little awkwardly.
"Well, what about you and Chad?," Jay asked me. I looked down.
"Well, we're doing okay, I think," I said, sighing.
"You think?," Carlos said, mocking what he had said earlier about Jay and Audrey.
"Wait, are you two having second thoughts about your relationships?," he asked, sounding a little concerned for us both.
"What? No. I mean, maybe. I don't know," Jay said, looking down.
"Yeah, kinda about the same for me too," I said.
Carlos looked at Jay, then at me. "Well, you guys need to talk about it with them. They deserve that at least," Carlos said, looking back and forth between Jay and me.
"Yeah, well, maybe," Jay said, picking up more wood. I looked over at him and sighed, then started to pick up more wood as well.*********Meanwhile*********
Audrey's POV:
I was helping Jane arrange our air mattresses (because when we do camp, it has to be that amazing) and decorate on the inside of our girls tent.
Mal and Evie were outside, chatting with Doug while Ben and Chad were doing the same as us, but with the boys tent.
I decided to strike up a conversation with Jane, since it was kinda quiet just us decorating, and we were alone and there was something I wanted to talk to her about.
"Jane, I think we need to tell Lonnie the truth," I said, sighing. She looked over at me.
"Yeah, I agree. I don't think she got the idea when you, Mal, and Evie sang that song right in front of her," Jane said, nodding and fluffing her pillow.
"When should we tell her?," I asked, wondering when would be the best time.
"Tonight?," Jane suggested. I wasn't sure about that, but I guess it could work.
"I don't know, maybe. We'll see," I said, sounding a little unsure. Jane nodded in agreeing.
Now was time to tell her what I'd been wanting to talk about. I turned around, and started untangling some fairy lights.
"Jane? Are you happy with Carlos?," I asked her softly, turning around and smiling.
She blushed. "Unbelievably. He's so great. I guess I never thought I'd end up with a villain kid, but here we are and it's better than I ever could have hoped for, even if he were an Auradon kid," she said, smiling. I could tell she was happy.
"That's great Jane, I'm happy for you," I said, smiling. I looked down.
"Why you ask? Is everything going okay with Jay?," she asked. I turned back around.
"That's the thing. I don't know. Do you think it's meant to be?," I asked her, a little weary.
"Honestly, Audrey, I don't really know. I think it's really only up to the two of you. Are you having second thoughts?," she asked, sounding concerned.
"Maybe, I don't know," I said. I wasn't sure if I should tell her the real reason. That was part of the reason, but not the whole truth.*******Meanwhile*******
Chad's POV:
Ben and I were setting up the inside of our guys tent. Doug was chatting with Evie and Mal outside.
I wanted to talk to Ben about something, because I knew he would talk to me about it and understand, being really honest.
"Ben? Do you think I'm a jerk?," I asked him, really curious at what he would say.
He looked kinda surprised. "Well, maybe a few times you acted like one...," he said, trailing off. "Like, why did you do that to Evie?," he asked. I looked at him.
"Why do you care?," I asked him blankly.
"Maybe because she's the best friend of my girlfriend, she's my friend too, I'm a nice person, because I just care about people, especially my friends, and most importantly, it just wasn't a cool thing to do, and how you just asked that—my point exactly," he snapped back at me. He had a point.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. But Ben, I freaked out, I didn't know what to do. I had so much homework, and I had been really stressed lately, and I feel really bad about it, but I know Evie would never forgive me," I said, looking out to where she was outside with Mal and Doug.
"I know, Chad. But you can't just put all your problems into the hands of others to solve. You need to apologize," he said with a serious tone.
"I know, and I will. I promise, I want to be a good friend. Better than what they currently think of me," I said.
"Good," Ben said, smiling. Now I wanted to talk to him about something else too.
"Ben? Do you think Lonnie and I make a good couple?," I asked him, curious about what he would say. He looked down.
"Well, I think so, but what do you think?," he asked.
"That's the thing. I don't know," I said, looking down. "Are you having second thoughts?," he asked.
"I don't know. Maybe. How happy are you with Mal? How much do you love her?," I asked.
"Happier than I've ever been in my life. I love her so much, she's my everything," he said happily, smiling.
I was glad he was so happy. Just don't know if I can say the same for me.
"I've never really felt that with Lonnie...I don't think she has either," I said, fiddling with my sleeping bag.
"Well, I think it all just depends on how you feel Chad, how you both feel, I think that's the best advice I can give you right now," Ben said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, thanks Ben," I said, thanking him. "Anytime," he said, smiling. To be continued...
