Mal's POV:
I was definitely not expecting this. We had no idea who those guys were, or what they wanted from us, but we knew that we couldn't let them catch up to us.
"Who do you think they were?," Ben whispers to me.
"I don't know, but whatever it is that they want with us, judging by how they were just yelling at us, it must not be good," I say to him.
We look back through the back window. We didn't see them.
"Well, I don't see them following us, so that's a good sign," he says.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean they're not," I say.
"You're right. We should stay alert," Ben says.Anonymous's POV:
"We're so going to get those kids," I say to him. "What kids?," he asks.
"The ones that were just here! Obviously! You have a brain the size of a peanut!," I say to him.
"Hey! You know my name is not peanut," he exclaims.
"Yes, I know that. I'm not dumb. But anyways, we have to follow them. You know there's no telling what boss would do if we don't accomplish this mission," I say to him.
"You're right, I don't want to face boss without completing this mission. Remember his powers? He said last time someone didn't complete something for him, he took care of them," he said.
"Yes, I remember," I say, looking at him. "Now let's get moving, before we loose them."
I thought I felt something fall from my hair. I looked down, and saw my barrette and strand of hair beads. I quickly attached them back to my hair.Mal's POV:
I have a bad feeling about those guys we saw back there. Who knows what they could be up to.
"Hey Evie, can you look and see how much money is on the meter up there?," I whisper to her.
"Yeah. Sure," she said, looking to the front, where the driver was.
"Um, a lot. I don't know if we have enough to cover it," she says, looking worried.
"How much is it?," I asked.
"$200," she said.
"Woah. Well, we would still need more, in case we need some additional extra money for anything else," Ben said.
"Well, do we just let the driver kick us out? Because you know that's what taxi drivers do," I said.
"True. But, we don't exactly have any other choice," he said.
"Okay, let's just pay the money now, get our bags, and then we'll figure out what to do next," I said.
"Okay, guys, how much money do you have on you?," Evie asked.
We all got out what we had. We put all of it together. It was $300 all together.
"Okay, so that's $200 for the taxi, and $100 for additional extra money," said Ben. He handed Carlos the money.
"Hey, you can stop here," he said, handing the driver the money.
"Okay, well, see you kids," the driver said. "Can you let us get our bags out?," Carlos asked. "Sure kid," the driver said.
He opened the trunk. We all got out, and got our bags out. After that, the driver waved at us, and drove away.
"Ugh. Does this mean we have to carry all of our bags the whole time?," Audrey complained. "Yes. But maybe we can make it a little easier," I said, snapping my fingers, and then we were all in different outfits, and I turned all of our bags into backpacks.
"Oh, that's so much better," Audrey said, relieved. Just then, we heard a voice behind us. "Hey! Hey you kids! Get back here!" It was those guys we saw back there.
I knew they were after us. I just don't know why.
"What do we do?!," asked Carlos, sounding very worried and frightened.
"Run!," we exclaimed. We all started running to a nearby forest.
"Quick! Hide!," Evie said, as we hid in the bushes.
Those guys walked right past us. We quietly moved to another place behind some large stones and rock.
"Okay, move quietly." We moved very quickly and quietly, and soon we were standing in front of a deer stand, and we couldn't hear much behind us.
"I think we lost them," said Evie. "I have a feeling they're still close by, though. We should be aware," I said.
"Oh, hey, we could use that net over there to make a trap," Evie said, pointing to a net at the deer stand.
"We could make a trap where if they step on the net, they get stuck in the net," Evie said.
I nodded. "Sounds cool. Go ahead. Make one," I said.
With that, Evie started making the trap with help from the rest of us.
Once the trap was done, we decided to try to get moving before those guys came back. We started to leave, when we heard footsteps. "They're coming! Hide!,"
Evie whispered. We hid behind some trees. We saw those guys come out, they weren't looking where they were going, and they stepped on the net.
Sure enough, they got caught in the net, and the net was raised higher.
"Okay, let's get out of here quickly," Carlos whispered. We silently crept away, leaving those guys hanging in the net behind.Hey guys, sorry for the delay on the update for this story. Please keep voting, commenting, and following. Thanks!
