Evie's POV:
I'm sitting on the couch of the RV putting on makeup and fixing my hair. Mal is sitting beside me, and Doug has his nose in a book, of course.
"Okay guys, we're here," Ben calls from the front.
"Cool." We all start getting off the RV. I look into the woods.
"So, why exactly would he be there?," I question.
"Who knows." Mal shook her head.
Audrey starts walking back to the RV. "Um, if there's going to be mud in there, I'm changing my shoes into some boots," she said.
"Me too," Lonnie and Jane say as they follow her.
Me and Mal are already wearing boots. The two of us almost always wear boots.
I guess it's just our style. My mom probably wishes that I would wear heels, dresses, and perfect makeup all the time, though.
I'm kinda sick of it. But, it's the only way I know how to live. It's what my mom has always taught me.
That I have to have beautiful looks and appearance for someone to love me. That what's in the mirror is all that matters.
I guess I've always believed that, because that's what I was told to believe. Sometimes I wish I was born into a different family.

Mal's POV:
"It's about time. Finally!," I say, as Audrey, Lonnie, and Jane finally come back out of the RV.
"Okay, are we ready now?," I ask.
"Yes." They answer.
"Okay, let's go." We start to go through the woods.
Carlos is leading the way, because he has the GPS.
I look back, and I see Evie trailing behind. She seems like something is wrong.
I go over to her to see if she's ok. "Hey, are you okay?," I ask.
"I'm fine," she answers. "Are you sure?," I ask my friend.
She shakes her head. "No, I'm not," she says, looking down.
"What's wrong?," I ask her.
"It's just.....," she starts to say.
"What?," I ask. She sits on a log.
"Sometimes it feels like all that matters is my appearance. Like, being beautiful, having perfect makeup. My mom always said that I have to be beautiful, and be the fairest of them all, for anyone to love me. It's what she's always told me," she said.
I sit down beside her. "What do you mean Evie? We all love you. We think you're amazing just the way you are. You're the best friend I could ever have," I say. She smiles.
"Evie, makeup and your appearance is like a mask. The true beauty is on the inside. You are nice, talented, funny, and amazing. Some things that we all love about you. No makeup or appearance that you have, could ever change that. Or your mirror. What's you see in the mirror isn't important. It's what's in here, that's important." I point to my heart.
(Music starts)
(It's only Mal singing this song)

Take off all the makeup, girl
Shine your light, show the world
Don't be shy, don't be scared
You don't have to hide under there

Let's throw away all the magazines
Turn off the static on the TV
Wish you could see yourself the way I do

Nobody ever told you
Nobody ever told you
You shine like a diamond
Glitter like gold
And you need to know
What nobody ever told you
Yeah
La la la la la

Mirror mirror on the wall
Acting like it knows it all
Tells you lies of vanity
It doesn't care what's underneath

All hung up on the negative
Doesn't have to be the way it is
Wish you could see yourself the way I do

Nobody ever told you
Yeah, nobody ever told you
You shine like a diamond
Glitter like gold
And you need to know
What nobody ever told you

Na na na na...

Free as a bird up on a wire
Just like a flower growing wild
You're beautiful, you're beautiful

Nobody ever told you,
Yeah, nobody ever told you
You shine like a diamond
Glitter like gold
And you need to know
What nobody ever told you

You shine like a diamond
Glitter like gold
You need to know
What nobody ever told you

Na na na na...

Oh, you're free as a bird up on a wire,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Just like a flower growin' wild
Just like a flower growin' wild

Na na na na...
(Music ends)

Mal's POV:
Evie smiles. "Thanks, M," she says, smiling. "No problem. Now, come on, let's catch up with the others," I say.
"Okay," she says, standing up. We get to the others.
"Where were you guys?," they ask. "Um, just having a small girl chat," I said.
"Okay, well, turns out he's not here anymore. It's like he keeps moving or something. We're going to have to follow him, and see where he goes."
Carlos shows us the GPS. "Well, I guess we have to follow him. Let's go," I say, turning around.
We start going back to the RV. When we get back on the RV, I sit with Evie back on the couch.
"Hey, Carlos, what to sit up here with me? Since you have the GPS?," Ben asks.
"Yeah, sure," Carlos answers.
I lean back on the couch. This is going to be a long summer.
