Chapter 15 Shit happens

Bella's pov

The pounding of walkers on the door got the prisoners a little worried. I could see it in their facial expressions. Well besides the leader who seemed not to have a care in the world.

"Those things outside that door ain't people anymore, their dead if ye get bit or scratched by one you're as good as dead, unless you cauterize the wound if ye can" Daryl said.

"Open one door" Rick said sternly to the leader. I don't know something about that guy gives me a bad vibe.

"Aim for the head" Glenn said reminding the prisoners who had parts of a table to use as a weapon. Then the leader opened both of the doors. Daryl growled from beside me from what the idiot did, so we got our knifes out in hunting positing ready to kill the walkers.

"I SAID ONE" Rick yelled starting to kill walkers as they made their way in.

"Shit happens" the guy said back as I killed another walker that was coming towards me. I saw him throw a walker at Rick and he went down but then Daryl killed it by plunging his knife into its rotting head. He helped Rick up and we continued to kill these things. I kept my glare on that guy, he was definitely pushing his luck.

As he pulled his machete back he nearly missed Ricks head, but good thing for Rick he dodged it just in time. Rick stopped killing the walkers and stared at him. Then as I got the last walker Ricks gaze was fixed only on the leader.

"You threw one at me" Rick said raising his eyebrows. The guy now seemed to look a little guilty but tried his best not to show it.

"It was coming at me bro" he argued. I scoffed, I fucking saw him throw it on him he could've killed it hisself.

"Yea I get it" Rick said then there was a long silence before someone spoke.

"Shit happens" Rick said before his machete hit the guy in the center of the forehead.

Thank The Lord for that. As I turned I saw that two of the guys had bite marks and one had a scratch on his cheek. I lightly tapped Rick on the arm and nodded my head towards the three guys. He looked to Daryl then back to me, we knew what had to be done. We took care of them and realized that one of the prisoners ran off so Rick ran after him. We heard a loud scream assuming it was that prisoner. Then Rick came back a few minutes later. The guy with the mustache looked scared of all of us.

"We're taking that food" Rick said pointing at it with his gun. He nodded frantically and moved out of the way so we could get through.

We took all of the food back through the tombs and into our cell block following the arrows that Glenn had spray painted on the walls. Maggie saw us and opened the gate, her eyes widening at the sight of all the food we had. The gate made a really loud and annoying creaking sound. She shut the gate just before that prisoner could get in. I walked back to my cell and saw that Carl was there, his jaw was set tight, probably from what I had told everyone earlier. I laid down beside him before he spoke up.

"It's all my fault Bella" he said softly grabbing my hand.

No, it's mine. I left. I was so stupid and I didn't even think about wh- I said

"I could've protected you from him" he said cutting me off. He moved his body so he was facing me, then he leaned in, and we kissed. It was a very passionate but yet soft kiss. He pulled away and held onto my body tightly.

No matter what Carl Grimes, I will always love you I said snuggling into him.

"No matter what Bella Pritchard, I will always love you" he said giving me a light forehead kiss.

Carls pov

Bella what do you miss the most? I asked her while trying to untangle my fingers in her hair.

"Nothing. As long as I'm with you, I don't miss anything" she said looking up to meet my eyes. I looked at her, taking in all of her beautiful features.

Bella I love you so much I said honestly. Her cheeks turned a light pink and that made me let out a short laugh.

"Let me guess I'm blushing?" She asked sarcastically.

Yea but you look cute when you blush so it's not a problem I said smiling.

"I'm gonna go talk to Beth now I'll be back later" she said getting up. Then she leaned down and gave me a kiss on the lips.

Bella's pov

I walked to Beth's cell slowly humming a song. As I reached her cell she jumped up and gave me a long tight hug.

"Oh my god Bella I'm so so so sorry that happened to you, if there was anythin' I could've done to help you I would've" she said while hugging me.

"So other than what had happened are you ok?" She asked with concern lacing her voice.

Yea I mean I have I have all of you guys and Carl so I'm fine I said. She smiled

"What was that song you were hummin' on your way here? It was really nice" she said smiling.

Wonderful world by Sam Cooke I replied. She nodded, and I saw that it was getting late and I was really tired.

Beth I'm gonna go to bed now, I'll see you tomorrow I said smiling she nodded and gave me one last hug before I walked back to my cell. As I walked in Carl was softly snoring, I let out a small giggle and crawled in behind him falling asleep myself.
