"What's wrong?" He heard someone ask.
When Jewel looked up to see who asked he saw someone who he thought looked rather strange. He saw a female with long black hair and yellow eyes.
She wore a red dress that came down to around her knees and she looked to be almost ten years older than Jewel did. Jewel wiped his eyes when he saw her and looked away.
"Why do you care?" Jewel asked looking at away from her. He still didn't want to look at her he didn't want her to see him crying.
"Well you're crying why wouldn't I care?" The woman asked looking at him.
"Your aura feels strange," Jewel said looking at the woman in front of him.
"What do you mean?" Cinder asked looking at the small child in front of her. She was now interested in the boy after all usually someone couldn't read an aura signature unless they were touching them.
"It's hard to get a read on your aura. It feels like you're lying yet telling the truth at the same time," Jewel said looking at Cinder. When he said this the woman tensed up just a bit.
"You know I saw what happened in that bank. What you did was pretty cool," The female said looking at him.
"R-Really?" Jewel asked his voice showing a little hope in it. After all even when he was being experimented on he never got praise from anyone. It was usually you need to be faster or you need to react quicker never anything positive.
He was rather happy about this because he was still reading her aura and he could tell that she meant every word of what she had just said. After a seven year old defeating several large men was impressive.
"Yes it was very cool of you. Mind telling me where you learned to do that?" The female asked looking at him.
"It doesn't matter that place is gone now," Jewel said looking at her.
"Oh okay well do you mind fighting for me?" The woman asked looking at Jewel.
"I-I would but . . . I don't know anything about you," Jewel said looking at her.
"Oh how rude of me well my name's Cinder and I want to make the world a better place," She said looking at Jewel.
"My name's Jewel and I think I'll pass," Jewel said looking at the ground. He had already tried to make the world a better place and he saw how that turned out.
"Is it because of what they said?" Cinder asked looking at him. Jewel looked up at her a little confused when she said this and nodded.
"I saved them so why?" Jewel asked looking at the ground.
"They just don't understand a gift when they see one. Come with me and I can ensure that everyone will treat you with love and kindness and not fear and hatred like they did," Cinder said looking at him.
"W-well I-I guess a few f-fights couldn't hurt," Jewel said looking at Cinder. When he said this the female smiled and offered him a hand up Jewel smiled and took her hand.
After this act of kindness Jewel stopped examining her aura and just decided to trust her. After all out of the people he had ever met she was the only one who had ever been truly nice to him.
As they walked they came to a old building with shattered windows and a boarded door. It gave Jewel an uneasy feeling and he looked at the teen figure in front of him.
