Just A Calling Card

Chapter 19: Choices

Jewel couldn't believe how fast things had changed around him. As he looked around to see several Grimm attacking the city as well as members of the White Fang attacking both hunters in training and citizens alike.

Jewel then pulled out his scroll and attempted to contact Cinder. He waited for a response but heard nothing. Jewel sighed hearing this and put his scroll away.

Jewel then started to run and heard a sound. He turned towards the sound and saw a container. He walked towards the metal object and saw Jaune inside.

"Jaune? What are you doing in there? Give me a second and I'll have you out," Jewel said looking at the male.

"NO! THERE'S NO TIME! YOU HAVE TO FIND PHYRRA! PLEASE SHE'S IN TROUBLE!" Jaune said looking at the white haired male in front of him.

Jewel nodded hearing this and began to search all available aura signatures. When he found the one he was looking for he began to run towards Beacon.

The reason why is because he noticed that Phyrra was with another aura signature that he had been looking for. Jewel could tell by the way they were moving that they were fighting.

As Jewel began to climb the building he felt the two aura signatures at the top becoming more tense then before showing that their battle was becoming more intense.

As Jewel was nearing the top of the building he felt two more aura signatures starting to climb the building. The white haired male looked down to see the Ruby was running up the building.

Jewel sighed seeing this and continued. He couldn't identify the other aura signature because it was on the other side of the building. However Jewel did know that it was a familiar aura signature.

When Jewel reached the top. He saw Ruby staring at Cinder and Phyrra. "PHYRRA!" Ruby said looking at her. Jewel then looked at Cinder and Phyrra he saw that Cinder had a bow pointed at Phyrra.

"Cinder!" Jewel said looking at the two. When he said this the female turned her head to look at Jewel. "Please don't," Jewel said looking at her.

Cinder looked at Phyrra for a second with her bow still drawn. She looked at the redhead in front of her. She was so close to her goal. If she did this then everything would be complete.

This is what she had worked towards for so long. So why was she questioning what she should do next? She new that if she didn't go through with this that she'd have to face her wrath.

Yet somehow the thought of having to fight Jewel scared her. Yet it wasn't because she thought Jewel was stronger than her. It was because she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to see Jewel again.

So at the last moment Cinder pointed away from Phyrra and let the arrow go. When she did this Jewel smiled at her. Cinder returned his action but her smile seemed much more forced.

However Cinders smile quickly faded as she felt something pierce her back and exit her chest. Cinder looked down and held her chest. Another shot was then fired that exploded when it came into contact with Cinder.

The force sent Cinder off the edge of the building. Jewel ran over to the side looking down trying to spot Cinder. He saw that she was still falling.

Jewel then looked to his side to see where the shot had come from. He now realized why the aura signature felt familiar to him. Standing across the building he saw Ozpin staring at him.

Jewel then looked down to see Cinder. Jewel then jumped of the building and started using his aura to help him fall faster. When Jewel reached Cinder he placed himself below her and brought her close.

Jewel let himself hit the ground using as much aura as he could to make the impact softer for Cinder. Jewel knew how badly she was hurt and didn't want her getting more hurt than she already was.

"Are you okay?" Jewel asked looking at the female.

"Y-yeah, but I need to leave before others show up," Cinder said as she slowly got up. Cinder then watched as Jewel got up off the ground. When he was up Cinder gave him a smile and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you, for catching me," Cinder said looking at Jewel. Hearing this the white haired male felt his face heat up and smiled.

"Y-yeah of course," Jewel said looking at Cinder. The female then began to slowly walk away. "Please be careful," Jewel said as he watched the female walk away.

Jewel then walked towards where several peolpe were gathering. He then heard footsteps walking towards him and saw Jaune looking at him. "Hey Jewel, I just wanted to say thanks, you know for saving Phyrra," Jaune said looking at Jewel.

"Yeah . . . Of course," Jewel said looking at the blonde male.

"Are you okay?" Jaune asked looking at the male in front of him.

"Yes, you seem a bit distracted," Ren said looking at Jewel.

"Yeah, just thinking about something," Jewel said looking at the two in front of him.

"Okay well I hope everything works out for you," Jaune said as he walked away with Ren.

Jewel then sighed and tried to relax until he saw a familiar figure in front of him. Talking to the crowd trying to keep them all calm was Ozpin.

Jewel suddenly felt rage overcome him remembering what he had done to Cinder. Jewel then started to walk towards Ozpin gathering as much aura around his hand as he could.

Unknown to him Yang was watching him. At first she thought nothing of Jewel walking towards Ozpin. That was until she saw the expression on Jewel's face.

For the first time since she had met Jewel she saw Jewel angry. Yang then saw just how angry when she saw aura around his hand. Yang acting on instinct started to run towards Jewel.

Sue may have only had one arm now but she wasn't going to lose her friends. Jewel was just a few feet away from Ozpin when Yang tackled him.

When she did Jewel's aura covered hand hit the ground. As soon as his hand hit the ground a massive crack appeared down Vale splitting several buildings in half and even causing some to be completely destroyed.

Yang's eyes widened seeing this and looked at Jewel. "What was that Jewel?" Yang asked trying to hold Jewel down.

"Yang you better keep holding me down like this. Because if you don't I will kill Ozpin!" Jewel said looking up at Yang.
