Just A Calling Card

Chapter 7: Care

Jewel looked at the several figures in front of him. He was at a mental war with himself. 'This doesn't concern me so why should I care?' Jewel asked looking down at the figures that were fighting.

Ozpin saw this and smiled. "Of course the decision is yours as to weather or not you actually help them," Ozpin said as he turned around and walked away. However unknown to Jewel he had stopped and turned around to see his decision.

Jewel looked down and saw that the blonde male was still struggling to keep up and while the redhead was doing her best to support him she wasn't perfect and was starting to leave him behind.

Jewel gritted his teeth as he looked at them. 'Ozpin's not here so why should I care? I'm not getting anything out of it so there'd be no point,' Jewel thought looking down at the blonde male. However no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get the thought out of his mind.

"Damn it," Jewel mumbled as he grabbed the two metal boxes that were strapped to his legs. He clicked a button on the side and a handle came out of each before they opened and revealed two small scythes. He then hit the handles against one another and a chain started to connect the two of them.

He then jumped off the cliff and threw one of the scythes in his hand. The blade planted itself in the Nevermore's side and he used it to swing over to where the blonde was.

Jaune saw the Deathstalker raise it's stinger and get ready to strike him. However he found that the sting never came when he looked up he saw that a male had a chain wrapped around the creatures tail.

"Don't just stand there. MOVE!" Jewel said looking at the blonde. Jaune got up to his feet and ran past the creature. Jewel then pulled his scythes and caught them. When he did he cut the stinger of creatures tail off.

When he did he jumped off the creature and he saw someone with a large hammer heading towards the creatures. She jumped up and smashed her hammer into the the creatures head sending it into the ground and down the huge hole.

When Jewel turned his attention to the giant bird he saw that the four girls already had it pinned to the wall and we're currently dragging it up the wall.

Jewel saw that they had it handle and was going to leave until he heard a voice. "Excuse me but where are you going?" Jewel heard a voice say behind him.

Jewel turned around when he heard this and saw the redhead staring at him. "I was going to go find someone," Jewel said looking at the female in front of him.

"Well mind if we join you?" The redhead asked looking at him. Jewel sighed hearing this and looked at her.

"I suppose not," Jewel said looking at her.

"Well I'm Pyhrra, Pyhrra Nikos," the redhead said looking at him.

"I'm Jewel . . . just Jewel," the male said looking at her.

"Well I'm Jaune Arc," the blonde male said approaching the male in front of him. "I guess I should thank you for saving me back there," the blonde said looking at him.

"Don't mention it," Jewel said looking at him. When he said this the other six walked up to him.

"You're timing could have been better," Jewel heard the white haired female say.

"Weiss don't be mean," Jewel saw a female with a red hood say.

"Well I'm Yang, this is my younger sister Ruby," the blonde said looking at Jewel.

"Okay I'm Jewel," the male said looking at her.

"I'm Blake," Jewel heard the female with the biw say looking at him.

"I'm sure you already know who I am but just in case I'm Weiss Schnee," the white haired female from earlier said looking at him. Jewel then turned to the two that were left.

"And who are you?" Jewel asked looking at them.

"I'm Nora and this is my best friend Ren," Nora said looking at the male as she started to walk in her own direction. The nine figures then heard clapping and all turned to see who it was.

"Very good Jewel you preformed excellently and have proven that you have what it takes to be on the one man team," Ozpin said looking at the younger male in front of him.

"You were watching?" Jewel asked looking at him.

"Of course I was. I had to be sure that you actually had what it took to survive on your own before I let you accept my offer," Ozpin said looking at him. The male then turned around and started to walk in his own direction.

"Well please follow me after all you wouldn't want to be late for team placement now would you," Ozpin said looking back at the males and females behind him.

The nine of them all shouted out something different and began to follow behind Ozpin. When they did they waited for team announcement and when Ozpin finally started they all smiled.

"The first team of the freshmen year is team CRDL. The members are Cardin Winchester, Russel Thrush, Dove Bronzewing, and Sky Lark, and the team shall be lead by Cardin Winchester," the male said looking at the crowd causing a few to cheer.

'Guess I shouldn't be surprised,' Jewel thought to himself looking at the four males that he had helped in the forest.

"The next team will be team JNPR the members are Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyhrra Nikos, and Lie Ren, and the team shall be lead by Jaune Arc," Jewel heard the elderly man say.

He was a bit skeptical of letting Jaune be the leader but Ozpin was an elder man with plenty of experience so Jewel decided to trust his judgement on this matter.

"The next team is team RWBY and the members are Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long, the leader of the team will be Ruby Rose," Ozpin said looking at the crowd. Jewel was once again a little confused by this idea but like before decided to say nothing about it.

"Then for the first time in five years Beacon academy will finally have a one man team. Please help me welcome this year's winner Jewel," Ozpin said looking at the crowd. Jewel was a little embarrassed but came onto the stage anyway.

However the cheering quickly stopped and they all quickly left the building. "Now it's time for lunch, after which I will show the thirteen of you to your dorms. So please eat quickly," the elderly woman that Jewel had come to know as Glynda said looking at them.

They all left and went to the lunch room. When Jewel got his food he looked around and saw two peolpe singling for him to sit with them.

He looked around not really know them that well yet and found a seat by itself. He then looked back at the few that were calling him and sighed being faced with another decision he didn't want to make.

However he made his decision rather quickly and went to go take a seat.
