Two weeks passed by. School was beginning to be a burden, but Nathaniel was there for me.

"Wake up, Pouty."

My eyes slowly opened and my senses returned. Nathaniel and I had driven to a neighboring town that was two hours away. I had read a magazine that had an article about a popular bakery. I asked Nathaniel to accompany me, and he volunteered to drive.

I whined and said, "Why did we have to wake up so early? The bakery doesn't even open until nine o'clock."

"It's ten-thirty right now. Besides, you were the one that wanted to go. Anyways, what's so special about this place?"

"They have cakes and cupcakes that I want to try. I'm sure you'll like it, too!"

Surprised at my sudden enthusiasm, he said, "It's disgusting, though."

"You're no fun," I sighed.

We parked and the saw the bakery overflowing with people. I got out of the car and walked inside, taking a look at the wonderful treats they had. Nathaniel followed and stood beside me frowning. I glanced at him and smiled. He must've seen because he smiled back.

"What're you looking at?" he asked.

"Oh! Nothing!"

I quickly turned away and spotted a woman standing behind the counter. Her gentle eyes gazed in Nathaniel's direction, but he didn't notice. I observed the woman approach Nathaniel and greet him.

"Hello. Welcome to The Sweet Shop Bakery! Would you like a sample of our latest and most popular cupcake?"

Nathaniel shook his head and walked over to me. I stared at him, but shifted my eyes to the woman.

She's really pretty. I don't understand why Nathaniel would miss an opportunity to talk to a such a charming girl.

The woman proceeded to advance towards me. She asked me the same question she had asked Nathaniel, and I accepted. She gave me two cupcakes with light green frosting on top; there were edible pearls in the shape of a heart.

"May I ask why you are giving me two?"

"The other one is for him," she said, pointing at Nathaniel.

I nodded and walked towards Nathaniel.

"Here you go," I said, handing a cupcake to him.

"What's this?" he catechized.

"The girl wanted me to give it to you. She wants you to try it."

I nibbled on my treat, but Nathaniel set his atop the counter.

"You aren't going to try it?" I asked.

"Why would I want to eat that?"

"Would you like to eat mine, then?" I asked jokingly.

"Can I?"

I gaped at him, but his eyes looked back at me with purity. He opened his mouth and waited for me to feed him. I slowly raised my hand to his mouth; he took a step forward and bit the cupcake. People were staring and I began to feel uncomfortable.

"You have frosting around your mouth, Pouty."

"Oops. I'm sorry."

I searched through my purse to find a tissue, but Nathaniel lifted my chin. Using his thumb, he wiped the frosting and licked it.

"D-Don't do that, you pervert!" I admonished.

He chortled and said, "I was only teasing you. I don't even find you attractive, Pouty. Only a stupid person would love you."
