It's Saturday. Fantastic.
I got up and opened the curtains. The sunlight brightened up the room.
I absolutely despise the sun.
I walked out to the kitchen and found a note on the table.
The note read:
Thomas and I went out to the store. We'll be back later. Also, Ren called.
I keep forgetting to call him. I might as well go visit him.
I decided to drive to Ren's house, so I got ready.
When I arrived, I walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell. The door opened and Ren was standing before me.
"Oh. Hi, Lucie. I called you this morning," he said.
"I know, but I was still asleep. I was going to call you, but I thought it'd be better for me to actually meet you. Can I come in?"
"Of course," Ren gestured.
We walked into his living room, and I sat down on the couch.
"I wanted to apologize for the other night. You made me really happy, and Nathaniel intervened."
"No, I'm sorry. It was inconsiderate of me to pressure you into kissing me. I know you're in love with Nathaniel."
"I can't lie and say that I don't."
"I respect your feelings, Lucie. If you ever need to talk, I'm always here."
"Thank you, Ren. I hope we can have dinner again some other time."
"I'd love that."
Ren and I hugged; I left.
That afternoon, I went to visit Lucas at the local library. He's always there to read and work.
I found him sorting books on the shelves.
"Lucas, can we talk?"
"Lucie? What do you want? I'm working."
"I just wanted to make things right. I didn't mean to argue with you."
"You just don't understand. You never do. Just leave me alone."
"How could you say that to me?"
"This isn't the first time you chose another guy over me, Lucie."
"What are you talking about?"
"You don't remember?"
