"Lucie, wake up," Nathaniel called.

"Aunt Lucie! Wake up!" Thomas yelled.

I groaned. Surrendering, I sat up and stretched. I rubbed my eyes and opened them to see Nathaniel and Thomas with a tray of food.

"What's this?" I questioned.

"Breakfast." Nathaniel answered.

"Pancakes? Eggs? Bacon? A glass of milk? Am I five?" I snorted.

"Thomas, can you go and watch television?" Nathaniel requested.

"Why? I want to stay here with Aunt Lucie!" he whined.

"You can come in afterwards. I just need to talk to her alone."

Thomas did what he was told. I smiled slightly, but it disappeared when Nathaniel was glaring at me.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked.

"Are you just stupid?!" he hissed.

"What?"

"You had me worried sick! You didn't answer any of my calls. Where were you?! Who were you with?!"

Nathaniel kept barking questions at me.

"Would you relax? I just went around town, and no one was with me."

"Why didn't you come home, then? We could've spent the whole day together!"

"I was feeling stressed out. I needed a break!"

"Your behavior has gotten worse, Lucie. You know better than to stay out late and worry me."

Nathaniel looked at the floor with a disappointed expression on his face. It caught me by surprise.

I stared at my breakfast with flushed cheeks and said, "I-I never realized how much you cared about me. I'm sorry I worried you. It won't happen again."

"Where did you go?" Nathaniel asked in a calm tone.

"I went to visit Ren and Lucas. After that, I went to a café; I ran into Ashton and John, too."

"How was it? Did everything go well?"

"I don't know. I don't really care."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I just want to forget about it."

"Okay, then. We should go somewhere today. Thomas' been bugging me to go to an amusement park."

"If you really want to, we can go. I mean, it's still early."

"I don't really care."

"All right. You and Thomas should get ready, and I'll buy our tickets."
