It was Monday. I drove to school early to help Ashton out for a class.
"So, has anything happened between you and Nathaniel?" she asked.
I shrugged and answered, "We're together."
"How did that happen? Don't you think it's a bit too sudden?" she questioned.
"I don't know. I mean, I wanted him to be mine, but I just feel like it was too easy. I'm not saying I don't want him to be my boyfriend, but it could've been more of a challenge."
"Basically, he wasn't the playing-hard-to-get and rough guy you wanted. Right?"
"Bingo."
"You're just surprised it was easy to get him. If anything, you should be happy he's yours. He must really love you."
I nodded. The bell rang and I walked to class.
I set my head on my desk as I waited for class to start.
"Oakly," a voice called.
I looked up.
"Lucas?"
"Ashton, John, and myself wish to speak with you after school."
Why is he talking that way?
"Sure. Where?"
"The café."
Lucas didn't wait for my response and took his seat.
Asshole.
