Chapter Nineteen.

Black stared at the wooden warehouse in the distance. It was time, this was their one and only chance. If they failed they'd have created a very powerful enemy.

"Are you ready?" he asked Ashton who stood beside him. The two of them would go in first, a ploy to get inside and locate Ivan. Then they'd send a signal for the others.

Ashton nodded and they then trek through the trees. The others had to stay a little distance away to not be spotted. They walked into the clearing and Noah sensed the other vampires immediately. Of course there would be guards. He grabbed Ashton's arm pulling him closer.

"Do you trust me?" he asked in a whisper. Ashton frowned his steps faltering. "Do you trust me?" he repeated more urgently as the vampires got closer. Ashton nodded his head but still looked unsure.

Noah gave him a small smile. Faster than the dragon anticipated, he injected a needle in his neck. It wouldn't hurt him, just heavily sedate him. Ashton's eyes widen before closing as his body went limp just as the vampires reached them. That's what he liked about it. Instant work. It could take down anything. He tried holding the man up but even with his vampire strength they went down.

"What are you fools waiting for? Carry him inside. He's a gift for the master," he snapped at the two vamps when they just stared. He let go and let the dragon fall down with a thud. He had to grind his teeth to keep from wincing.

"What is he? He smells delicious," one of them asked.

Noah shot him a glare. "You better not touch him. You should know how Master Ivan deals with those who mess with his meals. Now, lead us to the master." The men looked skeptical but one whistled alerting the ones inside. Noah knew the drill, it wasn't the first time he came to see Ivan... Unfortunately.

The door opened and a head showed. He gazed at them, nodded and went back inside. Noah sighed in annoyance trying not to fidget as his stomach turned in nerves.

Two men and a woman came out next. The men carried Ashton as the others returned to their posts. The woman indicated he follows.

The warehouse was larger than he had thought. It was divided into different rooms and not open. Noah looked around as they walked. He fought not to react when he saw all the people in the cages. They were food. When a vampire goes into his death sleep, he needs a lot of blood to replenish. Ivan is a master vampire, and he needed a lot of blood. The rest are for the others once he's done.

Noah averted his gaze and watched the front before he did something that would mess with the mission. He had to stay focused. He smelled the blood and tried not to gag. It was so strong. They were close, only where he was will the smell be so strong.

The woman opened the door at the end leading them in. Noah squared his shoulders in preparation of meeting the bastard.

He tsked when he walked into the room. He couldn't help it, it all still got to him. He watched Ivan as he drank from a woman not even looking up when they walked in. Around his feet were at least ten bodies, drained of blood. Judging from their pale complexions.

He looked around the room. There were no windows, understandable. Vampires were posted in every corner and each side of him. All their attention turned to where they stood, before the master. He recognized some. The vampire on Ivan's right glared at him. Gerard was the second in command and ran things when Ivan wasn't around. He hated Noah for some reason. He was a large man, at least Ashton's size. He's one of the few vampires he's seen who are built.
Ivan released the woman a few minutes after she turned limp in his arms. Throwing her to the floor. His red gaze turned to them. Yeah, that's another thing. While normal vampires have black eyes. A master vampire's eyes turn red. Blood red. A grin spread along his face and Noah groaned.

"My favorite little vampire. I wasn't sure you would show. And you brought a gift. Are you finally coming around?" he said as he stood.

Oh right, now he remembered why Gerard hated him... Ivan considered him his favorite out of all his creations. Or as he called them. His little vamplings.
