The chapter ahead features themes of suicide, self harm and mental illness, if this is something that affects you, I recommend giving this chapter a miss, as the next one will cover most of what is going to happen. If you suffer with problems such as the ones coming up, I urge you to get help, through Childline, the Samaritans, or whatever the American equivalent is. I'm also here if anyone wants to talk. Please, do not give up! Izabelah Petrova, the Shattered xxx

Callie:

"Sky, what the hell is going on with you recently?" Luke asked her as she sat down in the living room, having come over to see her new little brother, who was asleep in my arms. Oh, he was beautiful... "Not only have you been moody, completely rude to both your mother and I, but you were cruel to your little sister, telling her you were adopted in that way!"

My daughter raised her chin, wearing a thick jumper and jeans. "She's the one who was trying to kill me. I used my ability to the point I was running on dry. You know that if my electricity is used up, then I die. And I merely pointed out that I won't regenerate like you lot."

Luke stared at her. "She is 9 years old, and you didn't think that maybe we should tell her that as a family? We don't even know if Lyrica can regenerate!"

"Oh, she's your perfect little girl, same as Noah is going to be the perfect son." She told us, her eyes darkening, like it wasn't quite Sky speaking. "I was just the stand in while you were too young to have your own. I started out going to be your sister, remember? Because at the time, you two looked no older than me. It was my choice to make you my mum and dad, at home, obviously, and you probably regret it."

"No. Sky, you are our daughter too, and we love you perfect or not." I told her, shocked that she could think otherwise. "You've been like this ever since you moved out, and got with Clara."

She stared at me, her shocking blue eyes wide and fearful. What was going on in her head? "Are you seriously blaming my girlfriend for this? Because she is the one helping me, because none of you noticed, not until I got to the point I couldn't feel anything besides what was going on in my head and just didn't care. You didn't even notice in Vastra's time when I took on an entire gang by myself, because I didn't care what happened to me."

My husband was shocked. "Y, you did what?! Sky... Vastra is capable of things like that, she is a born hunter, you-"

"I'm what, dad? Just a stupid Fleshkind? Not good enough for your super brain, mums colours and Lyric's ability with animals? Face it, you are all the Terrific Time Lords, and I'm just your mascot who charges your phones. In 60 years time, I won't be here, you will bury me and move on, looking exactly the same. I'll just be another person you remember in the distant past."

"You mean so much more to us than that!" I shouted at her, trying not to wake Noah. "Sky, you're our daughter, the fact that you're not our own blood breaks my hearts, because one day we will lose you, and I can't stand that thought."

"Mum, you don't even remember my name."

She had a point there. I knew it was Sky Smith, but beyond that? It was hard to remember who she was beyond my adopted daughter. I knew she controlled electricity and she was gay, but that was obvious. "No, and you won't tell me. And who's fault is that? If you actually spoke to me-"

"There's no point! You told me that the reason you remembered Luke and Lyrica was because their songs were part of yours. Mine isn't! You're going to forget me again, mum." Sky got to her feet, her colours so, so dark, like they hated her, like she hated herself. "You think that I want to be like this? That's bull. I want to go back to being 15 and optimistic, and have the courage to ask out Clara then. You've been a bit preoccupied recently, first leaving me in Japan while moving back into the TARDIS, and then with the problems with your memory, but you haven't seen anything about me."
