- RYON'S POV -

I felt Sindri begin to die. She wasn't gone yet, but it wouldn't be long before she would be. Then I had an idea.

"Tristan. We can save her." I said. His head shot up.

"How?"

"She said that she didn't have her powers anymore. Dimitri said that this isn't the first time this has happened. Has this ever occured after she lost her storm, but before now?" The prince's eyes widened in understanding.

"Not that I know of. So because she doesn't have her powers, she is weak enough to..." He didn't have the willpower to finish the sentence.

"Who has her powers?" I asked. "They don't just disappear." Tristan sprang up from where he sat.

"I don't know why I didn't do this before." he said as he ran to the flap to the outside. "MARKUS!!" he yelled. In a moment, the soldier stood before him. He was dragged over to where Sindri lay. The pale color of her face and the wildflowers strewn over her cotton blanket said everything.

"Maldein help her." he whispered.

"Give them back to her. She needs her powers to survive." Tristan ordered. Markus nodded and began to work. Suddenly, he whirled around.

"Unless you're Sindri, you need to leave." he said. "There's no telling what can happen. My powers are unpredictable." Without a word, everyone filed out. I stayed. "I told you to leave." he said.

"I'm not going anywhere until you promise me she'll live." I informed him. He looked me in the eye.

"Listen. I'm no miracle worker. I'll work as fast as I can, but there are no gurantees. It takes a pretty long time to not only locate but let go of other's powers. Now, get out."  I raised an eyebrow. Markus sighed. "Fine. I freaking promise." I nodded and ran out.

Refusing to entirely abandon Sindri as the others had, I sat down on the ground just outside the infirmary tent. After about ten minutes, there was a small clap of thunder followed by a fairly dim flash of lightning. More like a candle going out... That couldn't have been Sindri. Could it? I got up to check. Marcus called to me from inside.

"Don't get your hopes up, Mr. Clingy. That was me." he stated. I sat back down. The sky began to darken. About an hour earlier, Grace had given me a blanket and some leftovers from the evening meal. I had picked at the tough meat and meager vegetables, but I wasn't really hungry. Too on edge.

I began to get angry. She could be dead by now, and I was just sitting there like a depressed rock! Doing NOTHING! I jumped to my feet, ready to pummel Markus to a pulp. Suddenly, powerful thunder rumbled across the sky, accompanied by a blinding flash. Heavy rain poured down upon us, as if the gods had split the clouds in two. Gleeful laughter erupted from inside. I tore back the enterance, only to be shoved away. A white blur bolted past me. When I was able to see through the sheets of water, a girl spun there, arms outstretched to the coming storm.

Sindri.
