I'm walking to town with Harry hoping we could find a pay phone to call someone back at Harry's home. A nice man back at the station gave us directions to town knowing there will be a public phone for our use. Harry hasn't said two words to me since the train has come to it's stop. I get this feeling he is angry at me. Or at least irritated on how I've been acting. I felt wrong, though maybe I was right. The guilt in me for acting upon how I did is aching at the pit of my stomach.

"How long do you think we will get to town?" I ask Harry, hoping to start a conversation so the aching can stop.

"I'm not sure." He continues to stare down the middle of the road as if he is hoping town would appear in the blink of an eye. Only knowing that it won't. We have to keep walking even further till it does.

"They should of called us a taxi. They honestly think we can walk 8 1/2 miles after being brutally thrown on a train?"

"It's better than nothing." His answers are very short and blunt.

I stop walking but he continues so I decide to speak up. "Look Harry..." He turns around, "...I'm sorry for acting they way I have. You only care about me and I'm acting like a baby. I understand you like me, but it's wrong for you to go against my word and kiss me when you know I am in a relationship. I want to be friends ok?"

Harry looks down at the ground pestering the idea of being only friends. Even though he wants more and, fuck, maybe even I want to be more, it's not the best to do so.

His head shakes and he turns back around and continues walking. What the fuck...? How could he do this? "Harry same something." I plead. He continues walking. "Fucking say something!" I didn't mean for my voice to raise. As soon as I say the last word he quickly turns back around and bolts towards me.

"Look Adalaide, if we continue to be friends things won't go the way you want, or even what I want. The media will eat you up and spit you out. We are either 100% into this relationship or people will assume we are which won't be good on either of our parts if its based off assumptions. If we remain friends we have to keep it on a low profile. Which means, we barely see each other at all. And since we are lost, and as you mentioned before have nobody here, we are stuck leaving things like this. Do you understand?" His eyes are looking directly into mine, locked onto mine, feeding off of my hope. I slowly nod my head because I do get it. He was thinking ahead of where I was at and what he is saying makes perfect sense. Except for his promise. He promised to help me find George.

"So you get it?" He asked.

"You promised me something remember? To help me find George."

He huffs and rolls his eyes. "Yeah I remember and I will send people to help you out on that. I'm only one guy and the best I can do is hire someone to find him. Nothing else."

"But we have to stick together you know? I can't lose you yet."

"I will do the best I can to keep you safe until I know you are fine without me. Is that what you want? Cause I can do as much as that."

My eyes begin to water up but I'm pushing back the tears. My mouth starts quivering so I open it to make sure it stops.

"Yeah. Lets just hurry and get to town before night." I walk past him brushing his shoulder.

At least we aren't arguing. At least he has my back till I can stand on my own two feet.

"I'm sorry though." Harry says from a distance. I look back to see him running up to me. I wave him off signaling that it's alright. That we can make amends on the wrongs we have done. When he catches up to me I put my arms around his waist giving him a hug.

"I'm sorry too." I reply.

I release him and continue walking. He puts his arm on my shoulder, using me as an arm rest.

When it reaches sun down we find a house out in the country. There are about 3 other farms around it. We go up to the nearest house and knock on the front door hoping they will understand our situation and let us stay over night.

"Hi can I help you?" A young women asked.

"Hello, sorry to be a bother, but you see my friend and I have been traveling for a while and since we are far from town we were wondering if we can stay here for a night?" Now that I say this out loud I realize how rude and blunt I sound. I should of asked in a nicer way.

"Um, I'm not sure, we do have an extra bedroom, but you see, I have a friend staying over for business reasons. I'm sorry but I'm sure the neighbors across the street would be more than happy to let you stay." The girl looks very apologetic.

"It's alright, we understand. Thank you anyway." I go to turn around till a familiar voice rings in my ears.

"Miranda who's at the door?" George. It can't be him. No. No. No. I refuse to believe it.

"Nobody it's not important." She turns back and looks at us before shutting the door. "Sorry." Was the last word she spoke before leaving us outside.

I go around to the window on the side of the house to try and see if they are in any sight. Once I get to the widow I see him standing by the stairs across from the living room talking to Miranda. Tears start welling up in my eyes. This is where he's been? Instead of looking for me and trying to save me he has been with some girl. She did say they were together for business reasons only. But then again I can't believe everything I hear.

I wipe the tears from my eyes and go back up to the front door so I can talk to him. Before I can knock Harry pulls me away.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"George is in there. I have to talk to him."

"Why don't we do that tomorrow. It's been a long day Addie, c'mon-"

"No!" I cut him off. "I need to speak to him Harry, now!"

"Can't it wait till morning?"

"He deserted me instead of searching for me. We are in love, er, were anyway. He was supposed to be the one to save me not you! I have to confront him now or else I won't be able to sleep."

Harry nods and backs off allowing me to do as I please. He stays at the end of the porch in case anything happens. I turn back to the door and knock. My hands are shaking out of nervousness. I don't know what I'm supposed to say to him. I am not ready to talk, what was I thinking?

Right when I turned away I can hear the door open.

"Hello?" The familiar voice asked.

I don't turn around, afraid of what I will see. Afraid of what he will think of me.

"Listen we can't let you-"

I  made up my mind and turn around to face him making him shut up. He has to know I'm alive. That He left me.

"Addie..?"

"Why didn't you look for me?" My voice is shaking and quiet. He stays silent.

"I was dead. I had to be brought back to life. You never looked to see where I was?" He shook his head. "Why?" Still silence. "Harry saved me." I backed up so he can see him.

"Harry? Harry Styles? From One Direction? He was the one that saved you? What was he doing out in the middle of the night?" He finally speaks up. So he was there. He was there when I drowned.

Harry steps up to the door, his eyebrows furrowed into confusion. "You were there when she was drowning but you didn't save her?" Harry says in a stern tone. "Did you do this to her?"

"Of course I didn't. Why would I drown my girlfriend?" George looks appalled to my question.

"Then why didn't you save her you bastard?! Did you know she can't remember things? Her memory is all splotchy because you thought she was dead!" Harry finished his screaming and took his fist up and punched George knocking him down to the ground. Harry got on top of him and repeatedly hit George till blood came out of his nose. Harrys hand was all bloody and after he managed bruising his face he got off and started kicking his stomach. George winced in pain, turning to the fetal position. The look of agony in his eyes stunned me. The tears in my eyes made my vision blurry and unsteady. I put my hands over my mouth so no one would here me shout. I bite my tounge to help.

Miranda came running up and tried to push Harry away. He wouldn't budge and continued to beat George to a pulp. She gave up and pulled George inside the house.

"The fuck is the matter with you?!" She screamed in his face. "He didn't do anything! Leave us alone!" She continued. She knelt down to George and rubbed the blood off his face. I'm standing still, in shock. I can't move a muscle.

"If I wasn't there, she would be dead right now!" Harry jumped, finished screaming, and stormed off the porch heading up the driveway. I looked at George and Miranda. She got up and started pointing fingers while her face got red and her veins bulged out of her head. Her eyes got all crazy and spit came flying out of her mouth, but I couldn't hear anything besides the ringing in my ears. I can tell she was finished because she just looked at me in disgust and slammed the door shut. the vibration caused my trance to fade.

I finally came out of shock and made my way to the end of the driveway with Harry. He was standing there with his hands over his face. His knuckles were torn up and slit. We stood there in silence for a while. When he took his hands off his face I caught him staring off into the middle distance, his eyes were blank. And then I realized all the people, staring off into the inky sky, felt wrong. But Harry wasn't. He was right, and misunderstood.

"Thanks." I say interrupting his daze.

"Lets get away from here." He grabbed my waist and we walked out of the property. We can't stay anywhere around here, so we just walked. Walked through the night on the black road. Hoping to get to town sometime soon The only light was from what the stars could give off. I felt the thick air blow across my face, warmer than night ought to be.

"Lets just go home." He continued. I nodded. Secretly, I liked the way he said that. Like I was included into what 'home' meant. It won't stay that way for long. But I might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
