Ashley's POV:
After signing the last of the papers, and being flirted with by the receptionist who really wasn't my type, Jinxx and I went to look for Andy.
"You think he'll be okay?"
Jinxx asked, putting his hands in his pockets.I nodded, "If he gets help, yes. If not, he's screwed." I replied blankly, shrugging it off as if it wasn't that big of a deal, when in fact it was. I noticed Andy sitting in the waiting room, waving to someone. I raised my eyebrow, seeing a little girl disappear down the hall soon after.
Just as Jinxx and I reached Andy, a nurse called his name. He stood up, seeming a bit more calm, and took my hand.
Jinxx offered to stay in the waiting room until the appointment was over, so Andy could have some privacy. We followed the woman, who was in her early thirties, down the narrow hall and into one of the rooms. Andy held my hand tighter, glancing around at our surroundings. The room was small, only big enough for about four people. There were two chairs against the wall, along with a magazine rack and coffee table. A few machines stood next the hospital like bed/table thing that you sit on, and beside it was a heart monitor."Now which one of you is Andrew?" The nurse, Kate, smiled.
Andy's eyes were fixed on the scale in the corner of the room.
"um that would be me. But please call me Andy."
"Alright, Andy, the first thing I'd like is to get your height and weight."
He nodded, paling visibly. He dropped my hand, kicking off his boots and cautiously stepping onto the scale, refusing to look at the number. I however, couldn't look away. It didn't occur to me how much weight he had lost until seeing that number. The number Andy thought was far too high.
Kate frowned and wrote something down on her clipboard."Andy, you're severely underweight for your height and age," she bit the end of her pen and looked at me. Andy shook his head, stepping down from the scale and putting his boots on. She motioned for him to sit on the bed and he did, glancing at me and then the wall. She took his blood pressure and temperature, frowning as they were both extremely low. No wonder he's always so cold.
"What is he here for today, exactly?"I sucked in my breath, turning away from Andy.
"Well..I think he has an eating disorder, I'm obviously not a doctor but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out."
"Oh.." she nodded sympathetically, "What are the symptoms he's experiencing?"
I knew Andy could answer for himself, but from the deep blush on his cheeks and the way he nervously played with his sleeves, that he wasn't going to speak.
"Well, first of all, he's lost at least over thirty pounds in almost two months. He's been exercising excessively, although he won't eat at all, and when he does he purges," I paused, looking at Andy who was blushing bright red.
"Anything you'd like to add?" I asked, turning to him. His eyes widened slightly and he nodded slowly.
"um, o-okay." He kept his gaze on the wall and chewed his lip. "What do you need to know?"
Kate smiled kindly, yet pitifully, "Just tell me anything you've noticed since all of this started."
Andy silently nodded.
"Okay.. um I guess the fact that I'm always cold. I get dizzy a lot, like I might faint. I'm tired all the time, despite sleeping so often. I'm really depressed and don't feel like doing anything..I try not to eat much but that doesn't always work..when I do it's usually under 300 calories, but even then it's still too much. Sometimes I eat way more though, and I can't stop..I always make myself throw up after.." He held out his hands, "um and my fingers are blue for some reason."
