Giving Up

Chapter 11

When we got home, I instantly went to Luke's room without saying another word to anybody. Luke followed me to the room but I shut the door right in his face. "Ow" he said from the impact of the door. I climbed up on the bed and laid down, putting the covers over my head. I heard the door open and the other side of the bed go down and hands go around my waist. I yanked his hands off of my waist and continued to look at the wall. "Why are you mad at me?" Luke asked. I didn't say anything. I just stayed the way I was. "Come on, tell me" he said. Still nothing. "Ariel" he whined. Nothing. He sighed in annoyance. "Tell me why you're mad at me!" he said. I could tell he was getting angry by the way he said that. "Can you please stop acting like a child and tell me" he said, raising his voice. I stayed the way I was. The more he got mad at me, the more I ignored him. "FINE, KEEP IGNORING ME, I WAS GETTING TIRED OF ALL YOUR BULLSHIT ANYWAY!" he yelled at me. That was it, I got up and ran out of the room and into the bathroom. I locked the door and slide down to the floor, crying. I heard someone knocking at the door, but I knew it was Luke, so I ignored him. I was tired of everything. I don't want to live anymore. The world will be so much better if I wasn't alive. I got up from the floor and opened the cabinet. I found a broken razor and grabbed the blade. I put the blade to my wrist and started to cut myself. I cut myself on my wrist, my arms, and my stomach. After I was done, there was a bunch of blood surrounding me. I laid on the floor and started to think about all the good things that will happen if I was dead. The room started to go dark and eventually I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital with bandages around my arms and my stomach. I sat but instantly fell back from how weak I was. I saw Jai walk in with his head down, like if he was upset or something. He looked up and ran over to me. He gave me a hug and started to cry. "Don't you ever do that again" he said. "I'm sorry" I said hugging him back. "I'm going to go tell the others you're awake" he said, releasing me and wiping his tears. I shook my head yes and he left. I closed my eyes for a few minutes and thought about everything that happened yesterday. "I wondered who saved me" I thought. I heard footsteps come into my room and opened my eyes. Everyone ran to me, giving me hugs and crying. "Guys, you are suffocating me" I said, trying to breath. They all backed away and wiped their tears. I took in a deep breath and looked at them nervously. I noticed that Luke was in the far back corner sleeping and I looked at them confusedly. "He wouldn't leave this room until you woke up" Jai said. "Oh" I said, holding back my tears. Jai noticed and came over to me, giving me a hug. I started to cry into Jai's chest, feeling bad that I put them all through my bullshit. "Does Luke think that all this was his fault" I said, wiping my tears. Jai nodded and more tears fell down my face. I felt guilty. Me cutting myself wasn't Luke's fault. It's just that I had so much bottled up in me that I just blew up and everything happened. I see Luke wake up in the background and get up from the couch. He notices that everyone is in a big group around my bed and walks over to us. He see's me and walks over to me. He stares at me for a second then gives me a big hug, crying into my shoulder. I hug him back and cry. "Let's let them talk" Jai said, escorting everyone from my room. He closes the door and walks to the waiting room. "I'm sorry" Luke says into my shoulder. "It's not your fault" I said. "I should have never said that to you, I didn't really mean it. You know that I love you no matter how bad your problems are and I will never get tired of you" he said. I nodded yes, knowing that all the thing he is saying is true. He pulled away and gave me a kiss. I kissed him back and laid back down still feeling weak. "Do you want something to eat, to get your energy back?" he said noticing my weakness. I nodded my head yes and he left the room to go to tell a nurse. He came back with food in his hand and a nurse. "Hey Ariel, how do you feel?" she asked, sending me a weak smile. "I feel weak" I said. "Yea, you lost a lot of blood, that's why you feel weak" she said, checking my breathing and my pulse. "Alright, eat your food and if you're still feeling weak, call me" she said. "Ok" I said and she left. Luke took off the covert from the food and helped me sit up. "Thanks" I said. "You're welcome" he said. I looked at the tray and saw that it was a hamburger with french fries and two orange juice boxes. My favorite. I started to eat and started to feel better. I noticed that Luke was staring at me. "You want some" I said, holding out the hamburger out for him to take a bite. He took a bite, but kept staring at me. "What" I said looking at him. He just shook his head but continued to stare. "Tell me"I said. "You're just very beautiful" he said. I blushed and continued to eat my food. I finished my food and laid back down. The nurse came in and checked if everything was ok and left. I felt something touch my hand and I jerked my head towards Luke. He smiled at me and I smiled back. His smile changed from a smile to a frown and he bowed his head. "What's wrong" I said. "I'm sorry for whatever I did at the beach to make you ignore me and I am sorry that I made you cut yourself" he said avoiding eye contact. I lifted his head so that he was looking at. "I forgive you, but you didn't make me cut myself. Stop blaming yourself for that" I said. " I was the last one to say something to hurt you and I feel like I drove you to the edge" he said with tears in his eyes. I didn't say anything. I just wiped Luke's tears and gave him a hug. I pulled away from the hug and laid back down. "Luke can you go ask the nurse when I can leave the hospital" I said. "You only been here for a day" he said, laughing. "I hate hospitals and I can't stand being in one for more than a day" I said, crossing my arms. I hissed at the pain from hitting my arms with each other. "Are you ok" Luke said. "Yea" I said. "Are you going to ask the nurse?" I asked. "No, it's late and you need to sleep" he said, getting in the hospital bed with me. I sighed deeply and rolled my eyes. I looked at the time and saw that it was 10:00 pm. "Let's have an all nighter" I said. "No" Luke said. "Why not?" I asked. "Cause I am tired" he said, laying down and closing his eyes. "Drink soda, eat candy, do something to help you stay awake" I said, shaking him back and forth. He sighed. "Fine" he said. "Yay!" I said. "Tell the boys to come in so that they can do it with us" I said. He said ok and went to the waiting room to invite the boys. Minutes later, he came back with Jai, Daniel, James, and Beau, surprisingly. They all sat down. "how you feeling Ariel?" James asked. "I feel better than I did before" I said. "So why are we here?" Jai asked. "I want to have an all nighter" I said. "Ok, what does that have to do with us" Beau asked. "Do you guys want to be in the waiting room, bored out of your mind or having fun in here?" I said. "In here" Daniel said. "Exactly" I said. "So, what do you want to do?" Jai asked. I thought for a second. "Let's play a game" I said. "What game" James asked. "I don't know what game do you guys want to play" I said. " Let's play Truth or Dare" Daniel said. "Ok" I said. They took chairs from the corner of the room and made a circle around me. "Before we start, I want to ask a question" I said. They all stared at me, meaning for me to go on. "Who was the one to save me" I said. "What do you mean?" Jai asked. "When I was in the bathroom, who was the one who found me?" I asked. They all stayed quiet for a second. "It was Beau" Luke said. "Oh, thanks Beau for saving me" I said, giving him a hug. He didn't say anything or hugged me back, he just stood still, like if I was a ghost. I pulled away from the hug and sat down. "Ok, who goes first" Luke said. "I'll go first" Daniel said. "You would go first" I said. He just rolled his eyes and laughed. "Ok, Truth or Dare" Luke said. "Dare" He said. "Ok, I dare you to put ice and salt down your pants and keep it in your pants until it melts" Luke said. "Ok" he said and grabbed the bottle I had in the room, that was full of ice and added salt, that I had in the room and poured it down his pants. We all laughed and watched as he jumped up and down and screamed in pain. " I quit" he said and took off his pants. "Ew Daniel, put your pants back on" I said, covering my eyes. "Hell no" he said, walking into the bathroom. "Ok, who's next" I said. "You go" Luke said. "Ok" I said. "Truth or Dare?" Luke asked. "Dare" I said. "I dare you to eat three mini bags of ketchup" he said, handing me the ketchup. "Wow, that's easy" I said. I ate the ketchup, like it was nothing. "Ok, who's next" I said. "I'll go" Beau said. "Ok, Truth or Dare?" I asked, "Dare" he said. "Ok, I dare you to go into a random person's room and say "are you my father and hug them for 5 minutes" I said. He got up and walked out the room. A few minutes later, Beau came back with a black eye and a bloody nose. "Oh my gosh Beau, what happened to you?" I said. "The patient punched me when I went to go hug him" he said. " Come over here, let me wiped the blood off" I said. He walked over to me and sat in front of me. I grabbed a towel and put it on his nose. "Grab that there" I said. He did as I told. I grabbed another and towel and put some ice in it and held it against his eye. He hissed in pain when I pressed the towel against his eye. "Sorry" I said and put the towel against his eye but more carefully. "Ok guys, no more dare's that have to involve with other patients" I said. They all agreed. " Hold that against your eye" I said and he did as I told. We sat there, doing nothing. " What do you guys want to do now?" Daniel asked. "I don't know" I said. We sat there, thinking about what to do next. "Let's watch a movie" James said. "Ok, what movie" I said. "A scary one" Luke said. "Ok, what scary movie" I said. "Let's watch Mama" Jai said. "You guys just want me to have a heart attack" I said. They all shook their heads yes. "You guys are mean" I said, crossing my arms. "Yea, but you love us" James said. "Yea" I said. Jai put in the movie and pressed play. I hid under the covers. "The movie hasn't even started" Luke said. " I don't care, I don't like scary movies" I said. He yanked the covers off me and threw them to the corner of the room. " What the fuck Luke" I said. "Watch the movie" he said. I sighed and watched the movie. As I was watching the movie, I noticed that the movie wasn't that scary. It was more funny than scary. The movie ended and we had nothing else to do. " What do you guys want to do now?" I said. " Let's do challenges" Jame said. "Ok, what challenge should we do first?" I said. "Salt and Ice challenge" Jai said. "Ok" I said. "I am not doing that challenge" Daniel said. "Fine, be a pussy" Luke said. I grabbed 5 packets of salt and gave each person one. Everyone poured it on their skin and grabbed a ice and put it on top of the salt. I hissed in pain as it started to sting, so did everyone else. "The first person to take off the ice has to drink their own piss" Jai said. We all agreed and continued with the challenge. An hour passed and everyone was still had their ice. "I quit" Beau said, throwing the ice back in the bottle. "Ok Beau, you have to drink your own piss" I said. He grabbed a water bottle and  headed to the bathroom and peed in the bottle. He came back out with the bottle full of his piss. "Are you ready" James said. He shook his head no. "Well that's too bad" James said. "Ok, In 3, 2, 1, go" James said and Beau started to drink his piss. I gagged at the sight. He pulled the bottle away and started coughing. He put the bottle back to his mouth and continued to drink. I grabbed a bucket that was next to me and started to throw up. Luke rubbed my back as threw up. I wiped my mouth with a towel and laid down. "You ok?" Luke said. I shook my head yes and looked over to Beau, who was done with the bottle. He ran to the bathroom and started to throw up. I looked at the time and saw that it was 4:00 in the morning. " Let's go to sleep guys" I said. They all agreed and came over to me and gave me a hug. "Are you staying here?" I asked Luke. "Yea" he said. All the boys walked out of the room and left to the waiting room. Luke turned off the lights and came back and laid down with me. He cuddled with me. "Good Night" he said. "Good Night" I said and gave him kiss. I close my eyes and drifted off to sleep. Hopefully I get to leave this boring place tomorrow.
