Chapter 13

We arrived at Janie's house and I got butterflies in my stomach. "Are you ok?" Luke asked. "Yea, I'm just nervous" I said, looking at the house. I sighed deeply and got out of the car. "Are you coming with me?" I asked. "Ok" he said, getting out of the car. I stopped in front of the door and sighed. Luke grabbed my hand and smiled at me. I smiled back and rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer. we waited for 5 minutes and finally someone answered. "ARIEL" the person said. "Hey Janie" I said. She gave me a tight hug and pulled away. "Who's this?" Janie asked, looking at Luke. "Janie, this is my boyfriend Luke. Luke this is my best friend Janie" I said. "Oh, hello" she said, shaking Luke's hand. "Hi" he said. "Ok, well come in" she said, moving aside, letting us enter. I entered and all the memories came back. The laugh of a baby took me out of my daydream. I looked over and saw Janie's mom with Roselyn. "Ariel, how you been hun?" she said, giving me hug. "I've been ok" I said. I saw that Roselyn was leaning towards me. "Can I hold her?" I asked, with my hands out. "Of course you can" she said. "she's your daughter anyways" she said. I took her into my hands and hugged her. I started crying. It felt good having her in my hands. Luke rubbed my back and smiled at me. "She looks a lot like you" Luke said. "Yea, she does" I said, looking into her blue eyes. She giggled at the way I was looking at her and I smiled. "I'll go get her things" Janie's mom said. I nodded and she left. "So, how was she?" I asked Janie. "She's been good, no trouble at all" Janie said, smiling at Roselyn. "Do you guys want to sit?" she asked. "Sure" I said and she lead us to the living room. "So, you finally got out of that torture chamber" Janie said. "I didn't get out, He locked me in the basement and I found my mom's body so I called the cops on him and now he's arrested and he escaped somehow and he's trying to find me to kill me" I said. "Oh, damn did Gilian get out safely?" she asked with a shock look. I started to tear up at the memory. "No, my dad killed her when he saw the police came to the house" I said, trying not to cry. "Oh, I am so sorry" she said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "It's ok" I said. Roselyn started to cry in my arms. "Aw, what's the matter baby?" I said, standing her up on my legs. She continued to cry. "I think she wants milk. Does she still drink milk? I asked. "Yea, i'll go make some for her" Janie said, getting up and heading to the kitchen. minutes later, Janie came back with a full bottle of milk. "Do you want to give it to her?" Janie asked. I shook my head yes. She gives me the bottle and I start feeding Roselyn. "I'm going to go help my mom" Janie said. "Ok" I said and she left. I turned to Luke, who was just staring off into space. "Luke" I said. He looked over at me and smiled. "How do you feel about all of this?" I asked, kind of worried. "I'm ok with it, she is your daughter and I want you to be happy" he said. "I don't want things to be weird" I said. "Nothings going to be weird, everything will be the same" he said, looking at Roselyn. "Ok" I said, kind of unsure. "I will treat her like if she is my daughter too" he said, looking at me. I smiled and looked down at Roselyn who was sleeping. Janie came back with her mother and all of Roselyn's stuff. "Thank you so much Ms. Lane, for everything. You too Janie" I said, hugging them both. I pulled away from the hug and smiled at them. We put all of the things in the car and said our last goodbye's. "Bye Ariel, i'm going to miss you" Janie said with tears in her eyes. I started to get tears in my eyes. "I'm going to miss you too" I said and we hugged. I gave Ms. Lane a hug and ran to the car. I put Roselyn in her car seat that they had and ran to the other side of the car. I looked back at them and waved goodbye. They waved back and entered their house. I got into the car and wiped my tears. "You ready?" Luke said. I sighed deeply and nodded. We drove off, back to the house. We got back to the house and all the boys ran to the car to help. I went over to Roselyn's side and took her out of the car seat. She was still sleeping, "Aw, is that here?" Jai asked coming over to me. "Yea, this is Roselyn" I said, turning so Jai can see her face. "Wow, she looks a lot like you" Jai said. I smiled and nodded. All the boys got the stuff and brought it to living room. I entered the house and walked to Gina's room. "Hey Gina" I said entering the room. "Hi hun" she said. "This is Roselyn" I said, walking over to her and turning for her to see her face. "Aw, she looks so much like you" she said. "I've heard" I said, laughing. "Can I leave her in here so I can organize all of her stuff?" I asked. "Of course you can" she said. I laid her down on the side closer to the wall so the she doesn't fall. "Thanks Gina, you're the best" I said, giving her a hug. "You're welcome hun" she said, hugging her back. I exited the room and started to organize all her stuff. I felt someone sit next to me and start helping. I looked and saw that it was all the boys. "Thanks guys" I said. "So, where is she?" Beau asked. "She's sleeping in your mom's room" I said. "Oh" Beaus said. "She looks so much like Ariel" Jai said. Luke agreed with him. I smiled. "She's suppose to, she's my daughter" I said. "But some babies come out looking like their father or both" Jai said. "True" I said. "What would you do if she came out looking like your father" James asked. "Nothing. She will always be my daughter, no matter what happens" I said, shrugging. "What color are her eyes?" Daniel asked. "Dark blue" I said. "And what color are yours?" James asked. "Mine are blue and purple" I said. "Her eyes are creepy" Luke said. I rolled my eyes and kept folding clothes. We finished folding and packing the stuff and put everything in Luke and Jai's room. We walked to the living room and started watching t.v. I heard a baby cry and ran to Gina's room. I entered the room and saw Gina sleeping and the baby sitting up, crying. I took her and went to the kitchen to make her milk. I made her milk and walked back to the living room. "Guess who's up" I said to the guys. They all looked in my direction and awed. I laughed and sat down to give her, her milk. "You were right Jai, she does look like Ariel" James said. I rolled my eyes and laughed. "So, what time are we leaving to California tomorrow?" I asked. "Our flight leaves at 4 am" Luke said. "So, we have to get up at like 2 to get everything ready" I said. "Yep" they all said. I sighed. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. Roselyn finished with her milk and started fidgeting in my lap. "Do you want to get down?" I said. She shook her head yes and I sat her down on the floor. "Don't run around the house" I said. "Ok mommy" she said. I smiled at the way she said that. I was getting tired of watching t.v and doing nothing. "Let's do something guys" I said. "What do you want to do?" Jai asked. "Let's go to the park one last time" I said. "Ok, let's go" James said, getting up. I grabbed Roselyn and buckled her into her car seat. "Where are we going mommy?" she asked. "We're going to the park" I said, smiling at her. "YAY!" she yelled. I smiled and went to the passenger side. "Ready" Luke asked. "Ready" I said. And we drove off. We got to the park and Roselyn started to cheer and bounce up and down in my arms. I laughed. "Mommy, put me down" she said, kicking her feet. I put her down and she ran to the slide. The boys went to the monkey bars and started to hang upside down. I laughed at their childishness and walked towards the swings. I started to think about how life would be in California. I will miss Melbourne, but I know I am doing it to keep Roselyn, the boys, and I safe. I felt someone sit next to me and looked over and saw Luke next to me with his face all red. I laughed at how red his face was. "What?" he said, with a confused face. "Why is your face so red?" I asked. "Oh, cause I was hanging upside down on the monkey bars" he said, smiling. I just shook my head. "Why are you just sitting here? Have fun, it's our last day here" he said. "I was just thinking about how life is going to be in California" I said. "I promise you that, it's going to be great and I promise you that I will keep you safe" he said, intertwining our fingers. "Ok" I said, looking at our fingers. "Now, come on, let's have some fun" he said. "Alright, come push me" I said. "No, let's go to the monkey bars" Luke whined. "No" I whined back. He rolled his eyes and picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. "Luke! This isn't fair" I said, kicking my legs, laughing. "Whatever" Luke said and continued walking to the monkey bars. I looked up to see James and Daniel playing with Roselyn. I smiled at the sight and suddenly felt Luke put me down. "Can you hang upside down?" Luke asked. "Yes, I use to do it every time we came here" I said. I climbed up and hung upside down. "Come up here with me" I said. Luke came up and hung upside down beside me. "Let's see who can hang upside down the longest" Luke said. "No, that is very bad" I said. "Fine" Luke sighed. I flipped of the monkey bars and looked up at Luke. He had a shocked look on his face. "What?" I said. "How did you do that" he said. "Oh, so when I was locked up in my room, I decided to teach myself gymnastics so I can flip  and all that crap" I said. "Cool" he said. He flipped off too and we started walking towards the guys. "It's getting late guys, let's go home" I said. They agreed and we went home. We got home and got ready for bed. "I'm going to set an alarm clock so that I can wake everyone up, ok" I said to all the boys. They all shook their heads yes and went off to their rooms. "Babe, where is Roselyn going to sleep?" Luke asked as we walked to his room. "Her crib. I setted it up right before we left to the park" I said, showing him the crib. "Oh" he said. I got Roselyn ready for bed and made her some milk and she fell asleep instantly. I laid her in her crib and got ready for bed. I crawled into bed and laid on his chest. "I'm really going to miss Melbourne" he said, playing with my shirt. "Me too" I said. "Goodnight, I love you" he said. "I love you too" I said. He gave me a kiss and drifted off to sleep. "I'm going to miss you Melbourne" was the last thing I said before I drifted off to sleep.
