Chapter nine

I glared at Diego for the seventh time now and held myself back from breaking his legs which kept brushing against mine under the table which held our breakfast.

"What's wrong Daisy?" he smiled at me. Anyone would believe him unless they go under the table. Which no normal human would do unless they dropped something or just decided to explore their surroundings, taking 'exploring' to whole new level.

What the fuck kind of a nickname is Daisy anyway.

"Oh nothing. Just thought a dog's tail brushed my leg. But again I forgot you don't have dog's." I smirked at his scowl and resumed my breakfast.

"OW!" he shot up from his chair and jumped like a kangaroo, holding his right ankle. I raised an eyebrow at him. I didn't do that.

"Now what" I sighed.

"WHO THE FUCK DID THAT?!" he yelled, glaring at everyone at the table.

Everyone kept quiet, not knowing who did it. I glanced around at their faces and notice everyone's face is blank. Bryce, Blake and a few other men from Diego's gang.

"You're hallucinating" I deadpaned, turning back to face him.

He turns to glared at me and stormed out of the living room.

"Oops" I muttered sarcastically.

Who kicked him anyway?

"I'm gonna go explore" I simply stated and got up from my seat before walking out of the living room.

I studied my surroundings as I climbed up the stairs and took a right instead of a left, strolling through the long corridors. I recognised everyone's rooms all in a row except for the very room I had always wanted to go in.

The baby blue door still stood there with God knows what behind it. I had refrained myself from opening it by assuming it was a store room all these years but whenever I had nothing to do, this particular door always bothered me.

Now that I've successfully pisses off Diego, why not explore the room?

I was going to open the door when I decided to think rationally and refrained myself from going in again. It's still too risky with others in the house.

I sighed and carry on with my 'journey'. I crossed all the familiar rooms around the house and finally come to a stop at the back door which lead to the back yard.

The cold knob gave me tiny goosebumps as I twisted it and pushed the door open before walking out into the empty back yard. I glanced around at the flower beds and noticed that the pattern still was the same.

"You seem to like the back yard very much" I didn't turn at the voice cause judging by the slight shivers that I got from it, it was none other than Bryce Maxfield himself.

"It's just quiet and peaceful here when twats like you aren't around" I retorted. He chuckled and walked up to stand beside me in front of the daisy flower bed.

"Twats like me can be amusing too you know" he stated.

"Probably" I shrugged and plucked a daisy.

"Did your parents never teach you to not pluck flowers?" he raised an eyebrow at me. I continued playing with the flower in my hand.

"When it comes to Diego's property, I'll pluck out the entire flower bed" I replied, keeping my gaze trained in the daisy.

Suddenly the flower was grabbed out of my fingers. I looked up to find him tucking it behind my ear. A slight blushed creeped onto my cheeks but I held it back and let my hair cover it.

"So...what do we do here?" he asked.

"I don't know really, when I used to be here, we used to go out on missions to take down smaller gangs and it used to be fun but everything seems boring and calm now" I shrugged.

"Not really sugar plum" I turned to raise an eyebrow at Blake who walks out into the backyard with a smirk on his face.

"What do you mean Blake" I asked him in a bored voice.

"There's one gang he wants to take down, six days from now at night" he held out a paper towards me.

I took it and scanned through it to find information of the particular gang that he's after this time.

"Okay" I nodded and handed the papers to Bryce, who took them and went through them as well.

"Mr. Twat gonna come with us?" Blake nodded towards Bryce.

"No one. Can call him a twat." I glared at him, making every word clear.

"Woah okay calm down tiger" he held his hands up.

"You should have seen it coming" I shrugged.

"True" he nodded.

"Don't you have anything else to do other than bother me?" I groaned. He chuckled and started walking backwards.

"Actually I do, preparations for our next mission. See ya" and with that, he walked back into the house.

"This gangs pretty tricky" I glanced at the door a last time before looking at Bryce.

"Yeah. It's tricky, it's been winning fights like these because of their excellent plans and security." I nodded.

"So why did Diego plan on going against them?" he frowned.

"Guess I boosted his confidence in winning." I smirked. He chuckled and shook his head.

"Sure you did. Now he's gonna let his guard come down at least a bit cause he has you, which will be an advantage to us." he tucked the papers into the back pocket of his jeans and sat down on one of the chairs.

"Don't be so sure about that Bryce, he can sometimes be brainy" I sat down across from him.

"Brainy as in?" he raised an eyebrow at me

"If he gets way too curious about you coming with me, he'll do a complete background search of both of us and increase his guard rather than letting it down" I replied.

"You have a point" he nodded.

"Well just have to watch his next move and our move accordingly. These soldiers need to make a move first" I smirked.

"Let's have an interesting game of chess" he smirked back.
