Chapter fourty
I watched the expression on his face change from a smirk to an amused one when I moved over to straddle his lap, grabbing his collar and pulling him close to me.
"Did you really have to do that?" I asked in a low playfully threatening way, narrowing my eyes at him.
His lips lifted in a smirk again.
"I don't think I need permission to touch something I own Mrs. Deverux." he answered leisurely without any hesitation whatsoever.
"How about taking permission from that thing before you touch it" I retorted, emphasizing on the word thing, making him smirk wider.
I held my breath in, when he brought his face closer till it was inches away from my face and whispered, letting his warm breath fan my lips.
"Then will you let me claim your body rock your world and posses your soul Mrs. Deverux...?"
His hoarse voice made me shiver involuntarily, my body pushing itself closer to him on instinct, making me bury my face in the crook of his neck.
I knew right then that I had plunged into his love, too deep to see the light of escape. I had wrapped myself in it too much to remember how to untangle myself from it.
And I didn't want to.
I didn't want to escape his love. I wanted to drown in it. I wanted to give myself to him completely and forget who I was just to remember his name.
My words tempted my body to mould into his. And my body took that temptation, as my hands wrapped around his neck and my fingers got lost in his silky locks.
It shocked me how a few words of his had the very capability to evoke such a responsive reaction from my body.
"I take your silence as a yes Mrs. Deverux.."
Another wave of his voice resonated through my body as his arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me impossibly close.
I pulled back slightly and looked up at his tempting face, only to get lost in the enticing beauty of his orbs.
Giving into my urge, I leaned forward and rested my lips on his, giving my control over into his safe hands.
Our lips moved together in a beautiful rhythm with a soothing harmony that indeed rocked my world in a mesmerising pace.
Carter wasn't rough. He wasn't hasty. He was gentle and tempting as he always was.
His lips massaged mine, brining all the blood flow to my face.
From the smile I felt against my lips, I knew that he was pleased by the reaction he got out of me.
My eyes fluttered close, savouring the feeling of him against me.
A slight frown made its way to my face when he pulled back, his breathing as fast as mine.
"As much as I would love to devour you whole, right now Sierra Deverux, this isn't the right time and place"
His smile remained in his face the whole time he said that and I reluctantly nodded, moving to get out of his lap but his hands held tighter onto my hips, keeping me in place.
"The day I find you alone in our room without any interruptions, you won't remain as pure as you are right now Sierra. And I will make sure that everyone hears you becoming mine forever"
His heated gaze that contributed to his words, were more that enough to make my breath hitch and my underwear dampen.
I had signed myself down to a commitment and I was anything but regretful about that.
