"Can I watch you play?" I asked Cole. It was the end of the day and he was going to attend his first practice. I was both excited and worried for him.
He told me he'd played football a bit during elementary gym class but never during high-school. In my school, gym was not mandatory for students. Thank god for that. He said he enjoyed it but never decided to play it during high school. I asked him why but all I had earned was silence so I didn't push any further.
He shrugged. "Sure but why?"
I hugged his arm and looked up to him in adoration. "Because you're my boyfriend."
He rolled his eyes but smiled. He obviously knew I was joking. The funny part was - pretending to be dating was so natural around Cole. I didn't even need to act.
I giggled, continuing to cling onto his arm. Which earned me lots of jealous and curious glances.
"Aren't you kind of nervous?" I asked. I mean, it was his first practise and I knew an actual game was coming up soon. "Besides Daniel and Turner are on the team."
Cole looked over at me considerably. "I'm not nervous. But are you sure you want to go."
I mean, sure I wanted to avoid those two as much as possible but they were tolerable. Honestly though, Daniel was slightly better than Turner.
I smiled, "I'm okay." I didn't mind, I was so over everything today. I was just glad Cole got a good and fair punishment. Besides I'm going to be on the bench only watching Cole. I've seen Daniel and the other members play countless times so they weren't interesting.
We both started walking out of the school and onto the field. Cole had already changed into his sportswear so he was basically all set. Just a red shirt, basketball shorts, and shoes. Simple but so attractive.
Most of the team was already gathered up on the field talking. There was still five minutes before the actual practise and I was surprised to see that they came early.
I looked over at Cole as we walked. His face was almost emotionless except for his trademark small arrogant smile. I had a feeling that this practise was going to go well by the way Cole was. He was confident like always.
I let go of his arm and crossed my arms as we came closer to the field. I didn't want to come off as a clingy girlfriend.
Finally, we arrived on the field. The team looked over at us and suddenly tension seemed to build up in the atmosphere. Cole seemed completely unaffected by it though. Which made me so proud.
Finally from the crowd, Daniel emerged. He looked so serious and gave off a powerful aura, just like a team captain. His wonderful blonde hair glistened in the sunlight and sadly to say, his whole appearance was on point. He came over to and took out his hand.
"Welcome to the team Cole," he greeted. Cole nodded and shook his hand, you could tell both of them were holding too tightly.
I was impressed by the way Daniel carried himself. He was controlling his hate for Cole for the sake of the team. Which was pretty nice even though the tension was evident.
I looked over at the team. They all looked pretty pissed about the arrangement except for Turner. He was smiling at me and he even waved. I waved back cautiously before paying my attention back to Daniel and Cole.
